Chapter Sixty-Two

"You're going to talk to Reggie today?" Maggie questioned as we arranged books at Pamela's.

Well, I was supposed to be but I hardly wanted to think about that now. It was still hard for me to wrap my head around and didn't know if I was ready to do this or not. Even if I'd mostly forgiven him already he'd still betrayed me while we were a couple. Talking to him wouldn't be easy and I wasn't sure I was even ready to hear his explanation of what happened. It was mortifying even if I already knew.

"Yeah Sunny encouraged me since she's supposed to be talking to Nick today. So I guess we'll see how it goes," I explained weakly.

I was even more curious to see how that would go and I could understand why niether of them would be ready for that conversation. Understanding a bit of what Nick was going through I could imagine him not being ready for this conversation. As for Sunny as the perpetrator, I could understand her guilt and nervousness. I only hoped Nick would hear her out for an explanation and they could survive this with their friendship intact. It was the same for Reggie and me.

"Is she talking to Reggie?"

"I don't know really but she should soon."

Yet another conversation that had to happen sooner or later but who knew where they stood? Drunken mistake or true love? Sunny loved him but did he feel the same? I believed he did but I couldn't know for sure. If a relationship like this could even begin would it last? For their sake, I hoped so.

"That's going to be an interesting conversation," she frowned.

"I just hope they talk about it. It's obvious they like each other. She said love actually and I believe her."

"You're okay with that?" she asked me carefully.

"Yeah, I really am. We aren't together anymore and it's not like I had a claim over him. I want them to be happy and I hope that's together."

"You haven't talked to him either have you?"

"No, but that needs to happen. I guess I want Sunny to talk to him first."

"That might be even worse," she smiled.

"Maybe," I trailed off.

"He does need your forgiveness too. You see it helped with Sunny."

"That's true. It's the one positive so far."

Niether Miles or Zayn were at school today and I wondered if Eric had ended up suspending them after all. I'd never been sure of his decision and I didn't know what that would mean for them.

"Yeah, so you think he suspended them?"

Of course, she'd know exactly what I was referring to.

"I don't know I hope not. You know Zayn only had one more suspension till he was expelled."

"Do you think Eric would actually do that? Suspend his own son?"

"I don't know. I don't want to think so but he might finally decide thats' the only way to teach him a lesson and maybe he's right. It's just I don't want Zayn to leave school. We have to finish the project and besides that, I just don't want him to leave at all."

"Because of how you feel about him."

"Yeah," I admitted.

"What about Miles?"

"If he was suspended even for three days I know he'll get in trouble with his dad and I don't want that either."

"Even though he's been avoiding you."
