Chapter Ninety-Two

"We had fun today. We always have fun and I enjoy being with her," Zayn revealed of his time with Melinda while we were on the way to his house.

"We didn't do much but talk and sometimes that's what I enjoy most. She's a great listener and when all you remember from your childhood is mostly not talking to someone then that becomes something you really enjoy."

I could be upset about his day with Melinda but I had wanted to know. It was good that she helped him as she did and that they enjoyed being together. I assumed his comment about not talking to someone was mostly directed toward Eric who didn't talk to him much while drunk other than taking at him. I knew from experience it wasn't exactly the same as talking.

"Is that the childhood memory you remember most?" I questioned curiously.

"No way I remember a lot of things. I've always had a good memory when it comes to the past."

"So that would explain why you fail at history?"

"History is stupid and boring."

"It is not. I happen to like history."

"Which would explain why you already passed it and are the one tutoring me."

"I like it, it's very interesting."

"It is not."

"You do realize without that there would be no us?"

"You're just being dramatic. What happened thousands or millions of years ago has nothing to do with us. No point in our lives whatsoever and nothing to do with us so it isn't worth remembering."

"Wrong, the history helps us to learn about the future and how we came to be us. Even when we were kids that's our history. The one you for angry I forgot about? So see? History is important. The past is also important even thousands of millions of years ago. We see how far our world has come."

"Not very far."

"Actually it's come a long way."

"Sure."

"Are you going to keep being sarcastic this entire time?"

"Most likely."

"That doesn't surprise me in the slightest."

"That's a bummer. I like surprising you."

"I've noticed," I stated dryly.

When we arrived at his house Eric hadn't gotten home yet and Zayn remarked that he hoped he didn't come home until much later and I shot him a glare to which he shrugged.

"We have the whole house to ourselves," He remarked.

"Lucky us."

"I know right? We have some time to do whatever we want and no one has to know," he smirked.

"Zayn!"

"Relax Princess I'm kidding. The last thing I'd want you to do is get obsessed with me or something."

"That wouldn't happen," I argued.

"Right because you have people who are obsessed with you."

"The only one obsessed with me is Jane Doe and we know he's not exactly normal."

"Yeah there's him but I was talking about George or maybe Miles. They seem pretty obsessed with you."

"They are not."

"Seem like it to me."

"Miles is not obsessed with me. We just still care for each other and George is probably just being nice. They aren't obsessed and it's hardly a big deal," I asserted.
