I quietly looked out the window, the skies were clear and the ground covered in grass, it was finally spring, I could see a few wildflowers growing out of the ground as well, each of them brightly colored, I couldn't help but smile, it's been a while since I've seen such bright colors, I had gotten used to all the dull colors everyone seemed to prefer around here, I felt arms wrap around me and someone kiss the nape of my neck, I looked back at my partner, Jack rested his chin on my shoulder, I couldn't help but smile at him.
"Hey." I said softly as I rubbed his arms, "Good morning."
He purred slightly as he rubbed his face against mine, I turned to him slightly and kissed his cheek.
"Still tired?" I asked.
He nodded slightly as he buried his face in my neck, I giggled slightly as his breath tickled my neck, I rubbed his arms around me as I looked back out the window.
"We h-have t-to leave s-soon, d-don't we?" I asked softly.
"Yeah..." He breathed, tickling my neck more, "We'll be okay..."
I smiled more, I really loved him, he lifted his head and loosened his grip around me.
"Where are w-we g-going t-to go?" I asked, "Do y-you know?"
"I do." He replied, "We're going back where we started."
I couldn't help but smile more, then got a little unnerved.
"What ab-bout everyone wh-who doesn't l-like y-you?" I asked, "What if s-someone t-tries t-to hurt you?"
"I can defend myself." He assured me, "No one will get under my skin besides you."
I sighed, gently rubbing his arm again, I looked out the window again.
"Is... e-everyone g-going t-to look at u-us differently now...?" I asked quietly.
He took a deep breath, thinking about his reply.
"Wait, actually..." I stopped him, "I d-don't care about th-them, only you."
He smiled at me, I spun around in his arms and kissed him gently, wrapping my arms around him, I pulled away and rested my head on his chest, he gently ran his fingers through my hair.
"I really do love you." He said softly.
I looked up at him, he was giving me a soft expression.
"I l-love you, t-too." I said.
He began to tangle his fingers in my hair, lightly tugging on my thick locks, I'm not sure how well Jack and I would have actually gotten along if I could've felt pain, I don't think we would have been this close if that were the case, he finally let me go so I did the same.
"I'll go make you something to eat." He said, "You just keep doing what you're doing."
"Okay." I couldn't help but smile.
I watched as he went into the kitchen, I then continued packing, I was folding some clean clothes and putting them in my duffle bag, I quietly listened to Jack cook as I kept looking out the window at passing birds, they were singing happily to one another, just as I folded the last piece of laundry I heard Jack scraping things out of a pan, I looked over at him to see he was picking up a plate, I stood up and went over to the table, he was heading right for it, he set the plate down just before I moved the chair to sit.
"Thank you." I smiled.
He looked at me quickly, holding his breath slightly.
"Don't sneak up on me like that." He said, almost like he was offended.
I couldn't help but laugh slightly, I moved the chair and sat down in front of the food, as I got the fork off the plate Jack kissed my cheek, he then started heading off to the bedroom, he's probably going to be packing more, I just quietly ate by myself, we sure did come a far way, there were so many things we went through together, I'm just glad to know he won't leave me ever, I finished up with my food and went to the bedroom, Jack was putting some things into another bag sitting next to him, he was using his hands to examine everything he was putting in, I went over and knelt down behind him, I wrapped my arms around him and kissed the nape of his neck, he stopped what he was doing and somewhat looked back at me.
"Are y-you s-sure we'll b-be fine...?" I asked softly.
He grabbed my belt loop and pulled me onto his lap, he gently kissed me.
"We'll be fine." He assured me, "I'm not going to let anything happen to you ever again."
He began kissing my neck, I wiggled on his lap slightly as I giggled, he held me against him and somewhat rocked us back and forth.
"You're really soft." He said.
"And y-you're r-rough as a r-rusty n-nail." I said.
He quietly laughed.
"A rusty nail?" He asked, "So uncreative."
I wrapped my arms around his neck and kissed him, he gently ran his fingers through my hair, the kiss slowly became more heated, he pulled away and I quickly took a deep breath, he gently kissed my cheek.
"You're too cute." He said.
I slid off his lap and he began getting more things to pack, I sat by his side and watched him.
"Are you just about all packed?" He asked.
"Yeah." I replied.
"Good..." He said quietly.
I kissed his cheek before I got up again and began heading back to the living room, I then resumed packing, I was a bit upset that we were in different rooms, but we were guaranteed to stay together, I finished with everything in that room and went back into the bedroom, Jack was zipping up the bag he had, I went over to him and gently touched his arm, he looked at me slightly.
"All done?" He asked.
"Mhm." I responded.
He stood up and slung the bag over his shoulder, he then offered his hand, I accepted immediately and we began to leave.
"I might actually miss this place." Jack said, "Or, I'll miss the privacy."
I laughed slightly at him, we left the cabin and Jack locked the door, we then started heading back to the complex.
"I'm sure eventually we'll be allowed to live alone." Jack said, "Maybe that old house you were messing with, it's a possibility I barely considered."
That's true, I forgot about that house again.
"It n-needs work." I said.
"A little elbow grease and hard labor is nothing compared to what's been happening lately." Jack said, "I've got the strength to move shit around, and you've got the eyes to figure out where shit needs to go."
I smiled slightly, he was just too cute, I leaned against his arm more as we continued walking, I was kind of happy to be out with him again, although I couldn't help but feel worried about how everyone else was going to react to us being back, after a while we reached the gate, we were just that much closer to being back, we continued walking, I was really happy that I was with him, he reached into his pocket and held out a plastic baggy to me, it had a cookie in it, I laughed slightly.
"Why was th-that in y-your p-pocket?" I asked with a chuckle.
"In case I wanted to give it to you." He said, "It's the last one, so savor it."
I took it and began eating it, it distracted me enough the rest of the way back, when I was done I saw the complex, I bit my lip slightly as we began getting closer, I moved ever closer to him if at all possible, Jack wasn't worried at all as we went into the complex, the first person we saw was Ben, he gave us a weird look but didn't say anything, he just started heading upstairs, I was with him the whole way, when we reached the floor with Jack's old room I saw Hoodie, he looked up at us as we got closer.
"Welcome back, boys." He said, "The room's barely been touched."
"Whatever...." Jack muttered.
He took me into the room, it was a bit stuffy but all of the boxes of our stuff is here, I let his hand go.
"All we have to do set up the room again." He said, "Or we could just leave it like this and wait until we're leaving again."
I laughed slightly.
"That could w-work." I said, "I d-don't mind it, as l-long as y-you don't run into th-the boxes."
"I definitely will for a couple of days, maybe weeks." He said, "But I'll eventually get used to it."
I was glad we were together, at this point I don't care about anything else, he is all that matters, and all that will matter forever and always.

[And thus, we are done here, yet another long-ass Jack and Toby book to add to my completed story pile, this book was a train wreck and a half, there were times I had cried over this book myself even though I always knew what was going to happen next, like the time when I was "Killing" Jack, that made me cry, and when Jack was starving himself I also cried, but in the end it seems they'll survive.
(Y'all're gonna hate me, but I had actually been thinking long and hard about the end of this book and considered having a really sad end where Jack actually dies and Toby ends his only a few days later, but I decided against it, personally I really like my books having happy endings, so oh well.)
Anyways, I truly hope you enjoyed this book and you check out my other Jack and Toby books, I have one that's already completed but has a sequel, and maybe there's going to be another Jack x Toby book? *Cough* hint *Cough*
Thanks for sticking around you dirty-minded beauties! I truly appreciate all your support!
And Zquad_94, I'm very flattered that I had inspired you to start writing, I'm not very good with talking to people but with books, I can be whoever I want, so let me tell you- and every other aspiring writer to ever want to write- that it's okay to start out bad, if you go back to one of my first books on this website back in 2013 (i.e. Creepypasta's House of Horrors, Stick Series; Castle, and the like.) You definitely get better at writing the more you do it, so don't give up easily, okay? My philosophy is "Even if you can't write that well get that idea out there, someone is bound to like it enough."
And maybe when you've learned more and are more adapted to working in a certain style of writing then go ahead and go back to rewrite it, there's no shame in that, especially when it's as poor as Creepypasta's House of Horrors, I really need to fix that one.
In both of the Jack x Toby books I've done I've had like, a book and a half of stuff to write about, but I like reaching out to my readers and letting them know that I truly care and that I acknowledge that you enjoyed it, so thank you and have a lovely day!]
