It was the day of Ebony's game night and as I stood by her kitchen window looking out as the cars were washed with the rain that was falling from the sky. I could tell the rain wasn't a good omen.

"You excites for today?" She asks as she was sitting at her kitchen table open bags of chips and pouring them into large colorful bowls.

I came over because Ebony had asked me to help her out with setting up everything but my mind has been else where since I arrived.

"Y-Yeah..." I moved myself from the window and sat beside her and as I looked over her I couldn't help but smile ear to ear. It's been awhile since I've seen her and even though she isn't too deep into her pregnancy she had a small bump and she seemed to be glowing but I think that just may be because of her new friend.

"What's going on?" She asks setting a bowl full of Doritos to the side as she opened a family sized bag of Cheetos. "You haven't talked to Dash?"

"It's been spotty... his answers are vague and to the point. He texted me good morning and spontaneous, 'I love you' throughout the day and even pictures of him and the damn dog doing random shit."

"is that why you posted, 'Fuck that damn dog' on Twitter?" Ebony bit her lip trying to not crack a smile. "Look, he isn't wrong... I get the whole thing with taking over for King thing but trying to find Sean ? Leave that alone."

"Oh great you to-" I furrowed my brow once I realized something. "You never call KJ by his nickname."

"Well... that's when I was his quote on quote girlfriend... now I'm just his baby mama so he can be King."

"Speaking of... you nervous about seeing him and Ashleigh?"

"Not at all." She scoffs with an eye roll. "I didn't know what I would do the next time I saw her but now I just don't give a fuck." She reaches down and turned the pockets of her sweatpants inside out. "See... not one fuck."

I couldn't help but crack a laugh at her as she stood up pushing the kitchen chair in and walked in to the living room. "I'm going to change in to my dress, I'll be right back."

I nodded as I watched her walk off in to the back room and the door closed behind her.

I moved myself to the living room couch as I examined everything we had prepared. She had her Wii and PlayStation set up on the TV as well as a few board games set out and a deck of cards.

As I fumbled with my phone in my hand Ebony could be heard humming to a song I didn't recognize from the back.

It was almost odd seeing her so happy, when I first met her she was walking on egg shells with KJ and trying her hardest to keep her emotions under control now she's met a new guy and everything has changed for her.

Whoever this Malik guy was he was exactly what Ebony needed in her life.

"You think Brianna is going to be mad we didn't invite her over early?" Ebony questioned as she stepped out of her room in an adorable yellow dress that made her dark skin pop.

"Please the bitch would of just ate all the snacks before everyone got here." I chuckled at myself before redirecting my attention back to her. "You look absolutely adorable in that dress Ebs."

She smiled brightly twirling in her dress before striking a pose. "You know I got to stunt on these bitches."

"Are Brianna and I the bitches in this situation or Ashleigh?"

"Shut up and help me finish setting out snacks."

About another hour had passed and it was now rolling on 6 o' clock which was the time that Ebony had told everyone to show.
