Last drabble for the next time! Thank you for requesting away! I'll try to get back into working on the normal requests for now!

While you were used to waking up halfway buried under your boyfriend, today felt different. The weight on your chest felt unfamiliar, and the hair in your face was none of his soft, brown curls but instead short rigid hair. The wet, warm, and slightly sticky something that moved over your face seconds later almost made you scream, but just in time you covered your mouth, before the pink dog tongue could have reached it.

"Elwood!"

Opening your eyes you were met with the brown ones of the huge dog that had climbed on the bed, and settled down on top of you. His nose was almost touching against yours, and he was ready to lick over your face a second time, but you quickly pushed the brown animal off of you.

Climbing out of bed followed by Elwood, you wiped off the dog spit, and starting the search for your boyfriend, who you found in the kitchen, sitting at the table sipping coffee.

"Ryan, what is it about your dogs liking to lick my face so much," you wondered, walking over to Dottie who was laying under the table, and wacked her tail when you approached her for a morning head rub.

"They just like you," he grinned, "it's their form of kisses."

"Yeah? Because I really don't get used to dog tongue in my face every morning."

"Oh you will," he laughed, pulling you into his lap, giving you a sweet kiss on the lips, "And as we're already talking about dogs, Z was in the shelter yesterday, and she saw this puppy, which she thought you might-"

"No, no, no. Ryan, no. Don't even think about it," you protested, "your addiction to dogs is unhealthy. You can't just keep collecting dogs-"

"I only got two!"

"You know what I mean!"

"No, I don't," he pouted, "and you know I'd have to break up with you if you don't support my love for dogs."

You rolled your eyes.

"Yeah, yeah, whatever. But I told you before: no more dogs, how hard is it to understand?"

"Very hard, over the sound of how beautiful you are," he laughed, kissing your jaw.

"You're unbelievable," you sighed.

"Anyway, I think we really should at least take a look at-"

"No!"

"But Z said it would fit perfectly to us, and to the other two, look at them!"

He cupped your chin, and turned your head to look at the two dogs that were lying next to each other, watching you intently, hoping for some treats from the table.

"Elwood is the big one, Dottie the middle one-"

"Dottie is big too."

"And just imagine if there was a third, smaller one; that would be so cute! You could name it!"

You turned your head back to look at your boyfriend. His dark brown eyes looked up at you pleadingly, but with an underlying tint of mischief.

"Stop pretending like you didn't tell Z already we would adopt that puppy," you rolled your eyes, making Ryan gasp.

"I would never make such a decision without you," he protested, but you just shook your head.

"I know that you already did. Come on, we both know we love dogs more than a reasonable life style, and I love you too much to be angry about something like dogs."

Ryan chuckled, burying his face in the side of your neck, kissing the skin behind your ear.

"You'll love the little guy, it's super cute. I promise."

That evening you fell asleep on the sofa, Elwood and Dottie at your feet, your head resting against Ryan, who had an arm wrapped around your shoulder, and in your lap the puppy, which you had fallen in love with the second you had seen it.
