Chapter 4

10:12 AM, Infirmary

As Sera opened the infirmary door... she was greeted with faces of shock. She was just there standing, wondering why they haven't told her about John's true identity.

"Seraphina?" Said Arlo, not expecting her out of all people to show up

"Why didn't anyone tell me?"

"T-tell you what?" Remi stuttered, knowing exactly what she meant by that question

"...That my friend wasn't a cripple all this time... You all knew" She didn't know how to feel. Sera didn't make any eye contacts with them and just looked at the ground, because she felt useless and oblivious

"S-Seraphina..." Said Remi with a voice of worry "I don't exactly know what your friendship with John means, but we thought about this so many times that if we expose Johns identity to the school, it would turn out even worse"

"What do you mean by that? And why?" Sera asked

"Well... We don't know the reason why he's hiding his ability either, but there has to be a reason why John's hiding it... And we think that if we expose him, he'll become even more furious than he already was" Remi stated

'A reason that he's hiding his ability'? Why is he doing this?...

She thought she knew him the best out of all students at Wellston... But it turns out it was the opposite. She knows barely anything about him. She couldn't picture her best friend as the Joker no matter how many times she tries to

What would've happened if I didnt see anything today? Would I stay oblivious? Would John actually never tell me the truth at all? What should I do if I see him again?

Deep down... Sera doesn't want this friendship to be ruined, even though it was built off of lies, because Sera has a feeling that John is genuine about being her friend... Otherwise he wouldn't have been sticking with her ever since she lost her ability.

Should I pretend that nothing has happened? Or should I just confront him about it? No... I don't want my life to be filled with anymore lies.

School Hallways

Why is Cecile and John working together? Since when did Cecile know that John is powerful? And why is John so injured? Who did he fight? Or was that just him in his everyday life pretending as a cripple? This is bugging me... I should talk about this with Arlo.

Elaine couldn't stop thinking about all the events that happened this morning. She was walking down the hallway, when she suddenly heard students gossiping as usual

"So... what will happen to the school... Now that Arlo and all his people were dethroned?"

"I don't know... and to be honest, just talking about it makes me terrified. What will happen if he now choose to target the weak?"

I was in utter shock when I heard that the royals were dethroned. Because she finally learned the cause of all of John's injuries

W-what? So the reason why John was so injured is because he fought the royals?! I mean I did anticipated this but... I didn't think it would happen this soon

She thought. When she finally had the idea to call Arlo to check up on him
