12:58 PM, School Hallways

Sera's POV

"Hey I heard that John's gotten a one month suspension"

"Yeah I saw him and Mr. Keene with his luggage ... Hey speak of the devil, there's his friend"

Rumours already spread through the hallways... Almost as if gossips are the only things people do in this school

Students around me already gazed me down differently than just about this morning. Their eyes almost looked like they pitied me... but not in a sympathetic way

'his friend?' That's the first time I've heard someone refers to me that way... They're not wrong though...

But now, I'm just his measly friend... *sigh* I hate this

1 hour later...

"ARGHH!" *cough!....cough!* Blood coughed out as I got a punch to the guts

Minding my own business, not even affecting their lives whatsoever. I still get bullied

"If you tell this to your friend John... I'll make your life a living hell, got that?!" 

Said the student while gripping on my hair. It was the same brown haired girl... the one that kidnapped me back then. 

What's her problem? I never even touched her when I had my powers! Is it really just because I'm a cripple?

Urgh her punch was hard... I can't even walk properly now. G-gotta go to the infirmary

I passed by more students on my way to the infirmary, but none payed attention to me anyway. Except for one...

"Seraphina?" I heard someone calling me while I was clinging to the lockers

"E-Evie?" *cough*

"What happened to you?!" Said Evie worried

"It's..... It's nothing"

"Put your arms around my shoulders! I'll help you to the infirmary!"

Wellston Infirmary

Doc's POV

Better tonics and a blood sample huh?

Resuming my daily life... I was sipping on some more coffee. Honestly, this has become an addiction at this point.

Leilah didn't had much time being here. She just came here to ask about her little sister and gave me suggestions on how to heal her. And she also wanted Seraphina's tonics once I perfect it

But as much as I hate to say it... I need Seraphina to come here more often to create better tonics for her

*creak* I heard the door open

*sigh* Speak of the devil, there she is... literally the next hour after John got suspended. Quiet the same scenario that John had when he pretended to be a cripple after Seraphina was suspended

*gasp* Wait... what happens if Seraphina does happen to get her ability back? She wouldn't end up like John, would she?

"Doc! Seraphina is injured..." Said Evie full of panic

"Lay her on one of those beds... I'll treat them right away"

1 hour later...

"How has the injured heal so far?"

"It healed a bit faster than usual... Is it your tonics that are getting better Doc?" Said Seraphina

"Yes... But it's far from perfect. Seraphina, is it alright if I take a blood sample from you? It might give me insight on how to restore your ability..."

"Really? Well then, feel free to do so"

"Be aware that this might make your body numb and weak for the rest of the day"

I didn't mention her sister at all... mainly because Leilah told me not to. Probably because she's still too ashamed of herself

"School is already over for today. You better go to your dorm and rest"

New Bostin, 8:21 PM

John's POV

Getting out of the cab, I took a glance to the small apartment that I used to reside in with my dad. Many memories flowed to my head, but there's nothing nostalgic about it...

*sigh* How long did the flight take for? about 5 hours? Plus another hour from the airport just to get here... My eyelids are starting to get heavy

*knock knock........ knock knock* "Coming!" It was the sound of my dad on the other side of the door *creak*

"J-John? What are you doing here?

"Uhm... long story short, I got suspended because they found out I was in a possession of your book"

"Really now... you don't seem to be affected by all this. You didn't do anything stupid did you?"

'Stupid'? No... I don't consider brutalizing those useless students to be 'stupid' anymore. They all deserved it

"Relax... I haven't done anything stupid" I said

*sigh* "I guess I have no choice but to believe you... Come in"

I looked around the apartment... Nothing noticeable has changed since I've last been here. But then again, I never took my dad for the decorating type

"Is it okay if I go to my room?... I'm kinda tired"

"Alright..."

I checked my phone to see how Sera's been doing... But I realized that she hasn't got a phone yet since she were kidnapped. I suddenly found myself clenching my phone

I swear if anyone fucking touches her...
