"Stay out of this Pinky... She'll burn you to a crisp with ease. Besides, It's rude to have multiple people fighting against one person... don't you think?" John said sarcastically. He was referring to their fight from yesterday morning, with Remi ganging up with their friends
"I would've fought fair and square if it wasn't for you getting all these powers before fighting all your victims"
John sighed loudly "You still don't get it, do you?... The victims are not them, but me!"

Volcan wasted no more time. She dashed towards John and tried to slash his chest with her burning claws. But with John's sharp reflexes, he dodged with only his upper body swiftly to the side, his feet standing their ground.
John attempted to stab Volcan to the guts, but she leaped backwards instantly, which was easily done for the fact that she also specialized in speed
'Urgh... How can she have fire claws and speed enhancement?' John thought, annoyed 'Let's see how you'll handle this one'
John charged up a huge beam with both his arms, but it seemed different than normal. He combined his homing beam with her flames to increase the size of the beam, and shot it right instantly

The beam's velocity was too fast for Volcan, but she tried her hardest to dodge sideways still. But the blast was just too massive, that it got her in the shoulder
"Urgh!" Volcan groaned "You can combine abilities as well?"She asked in disbelief, her shoulders almost burned to ashes
John didn't respond. Instead, he came up with a more efficient attack this time
He shot two of his beams with both his hands, and shot them near Volcan's sides, Making her only option was to stand her ground, or to dodge backwards
While the beams was still on their way, John dashed towards her and stabbed her legs so she couldn't run away. Volcan then lost balance of herself and fell to the ground
"GAH!" Volcan groaned, while losing her balance "Y-You brat! Do you have any idea who you're messing with right now?"
John smirked "No... and that's exactly why we're gonna have you answer some questions for us"

John dragged her into a secluded area, along with Remi trailing behind them "Ugh!" John shoved Volcan to a wall
"Lie and I'll break your legs"
Remi on the other hand, was spacing out in her own world. She didn't seem to me that satisfied, considering that her brother was somewhat avenged. But, she realized that this wasn't just about avenging Rei anymore. It was to finally know the truth behind all of this
"Volcan..." Remi called "I'm just going to ask this straight away. Are you involved with Ember?"
Volcan went silent "Answer her!" John demanded
"Yes..." She answered quietly, which wasn't surprising at all, since she just wanted to confirm it with John's lie detecting powers
"What are Ember's motives? Why are you guys doing this?"
"I... I don't know... I'm just receiving orders" Said Volcan
Deep down, Remi knew. John probably thought it was plain obvious already. but countless questions popped in Remi's minds
'Why are the authorities doing this? What are they trying to achieve? I don't understand what's going on in this world anymore... and judging by the look of John's face, he's not surprised? does he know something as well?'
Remi thought, confused by all of it. but suddenly, John felt the need to ask Volcan something this time
"Volcan. Say... can EMBER take powers from its own user?"
"No..." Volcan answered briefly "We don't have the power to do that..."
John expected that answer, since EMBER only tarets superheroes after all. But at least that was one step closer in finding the truth behind Sera's incident
"Then..." John continued "Do you have something that negates the effects of those that recieved amplified drug?"
"Yes I have it right now"
'Huh? She's surprisingly diligent. What's going on?' John thought
Volcan gave us the cure without any struggle. But instead of giving us some syringes, it was actually some vials that you have to drink
"Pinky... give this to Kalen later"
"W-what are we going to do with her?"
"We're bringing her to the Headmaster" John replied "Since the authorities can't be trusted"
"What matters do you have to discuss this late at night?"
Vaughn asked. Normally, the Headmaster wouldn't answer to someone's call, especially since it was so late at night nonetheless. But for him, John was a different matter, and seeing what the two brought, it seemed that this was something after all
"Sir... We've come here to inform you that we've found a person that is connected to Ember" Remi stated. Vaughn took a glimpse to Volcan, which was standing behind Remi
"So the two of you found Ember in just one night, correct? So why are the authorities having so much trouble?"Asked Vaughn
"Sir..." John replied "According to what this lady claimed. They are connected"
'So it's true after all... I've had the feeling since ages ago that they're up to no good. That is why I didn't want this school to be involved with the officials in the first place' Vaughn thought to himself
"Sir?"
"Thank you for relaying this news to me. I will be sure to notice this to Keene as well" Vaughn stated "You two better rest for today"
"Have a good night sir!" Said Remi, bowing her head
