Not a Crow [Jax Teller ~SOA]

Chapter 3

Melody got a call from the hospital the next day letting her know Wendy was out of detox. It weighed on her mind whether to go or not. She did tell Wendy she didn't want her back in her life until she was clean, but almost losing her again freaked Melody out. She decided to suck it up and see her sister. Once Wendy went to rehab, who knows the next time they'd see each other.

"I know it was Gemma" Melody said pulling a chair next to Wendy's bed.

"So what if it was, she didn't force it into my vein" Wendy spat.

"You can fight her on this, press charges" Melody said and Wendy laughed.

"Always the goody two shoes, nothing could ever go bad in your life without there being some way to fix it" Melody opened her mouth to object but closed it quickly. "The one thing I've learned from being with Jax, you don't mess with Gemma and if you're going to be in Abel's life, I suggest you do the same"

"You still going to rehab?" Melody asked and Wendy nodded.

"Gemma can threaten me now, but not once I get clean and sober" Melody agreed to keep the Gemma thing between them, but was still furious. Stepping out for a quick dinner down at the hospital cafeteria, Melody decided to say goodnight to Wendy. Gemma walked out just as Melody approached the door.

"You stay away from my sister" Melody said and Gemma chuckled. "I mean it Gemma, stay away, Jesus just stay away from her"

"You know I'd hate you if you didn't remind me so much of myself, sticking up for you family like that" Melody rolled her eyes and pushed the door open. She said her goodnight to Wendy and decided to check on Abel one last time. Seeing Gemma in the room made her want to turn around, but she decided to confront her once again.

"Listen Gemma, we both clearly love this boy right here and love our families. Wendy and Abel are all I got and I won't let you bully her, I can take care of her myself without you trying to kill her" Melody laid it all out and Gemma pursed her lips. "I get she's caused a lot of pain, but she's still my sister"

"Alright, I'll leave her alone, but I don't trust her around this baby" Gemma stated and Melody agreed.

"I get it, when Wendy gets out I'm sending her to a rehab center a couple hours away, it's one of the best in California"

"I got respect for you kid, family is all we got" Melody agreed and noticed Jax outside. "And by the way, you got more than just Abel and Wendy now, this club is your family now sweetheart" Gemma then headed into the hallway and talked to him quickly, but came back in the room while Jax talked to Elliot Oswald.

"What's that all about" Melody asked noticing the tense conversation.

"Elliot's daughter, Tristan, was raped last night at Fun Town" Melody covered her mouth in shocked.

"That's awful, she's so young" Melody voice was soft. "What does Jax have to do with it" she asked and Gemma leaned back in her chair.

"There's a lot you don't know about this place, for now just know that nobody messes with SAMCRO, or anybody associated with it" Melody remembered what Jax had said to her at Fun Town. Elliot left and Jax waved to Melody. She said goodbye to Abel and walked out of the room.

"I'm sorry if we freaked you, I meant to call but-"

"I get it, Gemma kind of explained what's going on, I just guess it's weird having a family again" Melody shrugged. "I'm heading home for the night, I start working at the clinic tomorrow" Melody said goodnight to Jax and waved to Gemma.

"Hey Melody" Jax called out.

"Yeah?" Melody called back turning to face him.

"I'm glad you're sticking around for awhile" He smiled at her and she smiled back.

"Me too" And with that, Melody headed to the elevator to go home.

SOA

Jax headed into Abel's room smiling at his son. Gemma smirked a little and rolled her eyes.

"What ma?" Jax asked and Gemma smiled a little.

"You like her" she said.

"What? That's my ex-wife's sister, why the hell would you say that" Jax rambled making Gemma chuckle.

"I see the way you look at her, she looks at you the same way, introducing her to everyone, calling her family"

"She is family, and we don't look at each other in any sort of way" Jax argued.

"You're gonna marry that girl, a mother's institution is never wrong" and with that Gemma headed out to talk to Tristan.

"Your grandma is a crazy woman" Jax said to his soon.

"I heard that" Jax chuckled and sat down to watch his son.
