Chapter 17 One Last Battle?

Third P.O.V

The gym battle between Leah and Korrina is about to begin. Who will win? We'll find out.

Korrina sent out her Mienfoo, Leah took longer as she was thinking, then she grabbed a Pokéball, looked at it, and nodded. Glaceon, Lycanroc, Ponyta, and Fluffy were watching the battle, which means that Leah only had to battle with Espurr, Primarina, and Houndoom. "K, Go Espurr!" Leah called out. "That's clever, Fighting types are weak to Psychic types." Professor Kukui said. "But even so Leah likes to defeat fighting types with type disadvantages. She's out of her comfort zone." Gladion stated. Back to the battle, "Mienfoo use drain punch!" Korrina told Mienfoo. Mienfoo was about to attack until Leah called a move. "Not on my watch! Espurr use Hypnosis!" Leah exclaimed. Espurr used Hypnosis, Mienfoo fell asleep. "Surprised you didn't I? Now Espurr use Psybeam!" Leah told Espurr. "Mienfoo, Wake Up!" Korrina exclaimed. Which Leah got back with another move. "Now use Psychic!" Leah called out. Espurr used Psychic and used that psychic to send Mienfoo flying to the wall fainting it. The battle is three to two, Leah could of switched Espurr, but she didn't. Glaceon was jealous because it wasn't battling, but it was happy to be with Umbreon. "Mienfoo return. I was just warming up, my next Pokémon is much challenging." Korrina said. "I like challenges, give all you've got no holding back, sis!" Leah told Korrina. "As long as you don't hold back either! Machoke!" Korrina said. Machoke looked intimidating, but that wasn't what will get Leah's guard down. "Espurr use disarming voice!" Leah called out. "Machoke counter it through with focus blast!" Korrina told Machoke. "Clever! Espurr use Psybeam!" Leah exclaimed. Espurr used Psybeam dealing a lot of damage on Machoke, but little did Leah know it was gonna come back to her. "Now Finish this with Brick Break!" Korrina called out. This fainted Espurr as they thought that Machoke had fainted. "Espurr come in, my next Pokémon is very challenging, Primarina!" Leah called out. "Marina!" Primarina sang. "Leah has a Primarina!?" Leah's classmates exclaimed. "How come she never told us?" Mallow asked. "Because she found it unnecessary to tell you." Gladion explained. Back on the battlefield, Korrina is amazed by Leah's final evolved starter. "Surprinsing isn't it? Primarina use Sparkling Aria!" Leah exclaimed. Sparkling Aria did its damage but not enough to faint Machoke. "Machoke use Low Sweep!" Korrina called out. "Someone's desperate to win! Primarina wait for it to come closer." Leah told Primarina. As Machoke came close Leah made her final move to finish off Machoke. "Now Primarina use Dazzling Gleam!" Leah exclaimed. The move fainted Machoke, the match is now two to one. "Primarina she's gonna send in Lucario and Mega evolve it, best we do a Z-Move." Leah told Primarina quietly. "She switched the Icium-Z on her Z-Ring for a Primarium-Z!" Gladion exclaimed. "Leah's gonna use a Z-Move!" Mallow exclaimed. "I think Leah knows what she's doing." Lillie said. "She does, she's planning on tiring Primarina and Lucario so she can send Houndoom in battle Mega evolve it and finish this with a Powerful blow!" Gladion explained. Korrina sent in Lucario and Mega Evolved it. "Alright time for a Z-Move!" Leah said. "Use Oceanic Operetta!" Leah exclaimed. Primarina used the move. "After a Z-move you're so tired that you can't even counter attack, Lucario use Aura Sphere!" Korrina said. Primarina was tired, so Lucario striked its Aura Sphere. Primarina fainted. "My Last Pokémon, Houndoom, show 'em what you got!" Leah said. Houndoom appeared out of its Pokéball. "Now if you can Mega Evolve your partner, why can't I? Houndoom respond my heart, summon the raging fire of Wela Volcano and Burn, Mega Evolve!" Leah exclaimed as golden beams surrounded Houndoom, it dissipated revealing Mega Houndoom. "Now we're talking game!" Korrina said. "Houndoom never battled Lucario before!" Lillie exclaimed. Glaceon was concerned for its friend. Houndoom never battled Lucario even less Mega Lucario! "Houndoom use Fire Blast!" Leah told Houndoom. Houndoom used Fire Blast which was countered by Aura Sphere. "Lucario use Power-Up Punch!" Korrina told Lucario. "Jump Houndoom and use Flamethrower!" Leah told Houndoom. The failed Power-Up Punch dealt some damage on Lucario adding the 2x damage from Flamethrower. Flamethrower's Power is 90 multiplied by 2 it makes 180, so to sum it up Lucario dealt 180 damage from Flamethrower. "Lucario can you still battle?" Korrina asked her partner. "Looks like it still can, and I'm just getting started!" Leah said. "Lucario use Bone Rush!" Korrina told Lucario. "Houndoom counter with Dark Pulse!" Leah told Houndoom. "Alright! Now finish this with Fire Blast!" Leah exclaimed. "Leah's strategy is tiring her opponent then strike her strong attacks, very effective indeed." Clemont said. Houndoom used Fire Blast fainting Lucario as both Pokémon reverted back to their original form. "You were amazing Houndoom!" Leah told Houndoom. Korrina gave Leah the Rumble badge, shortly after a rift appeared in the sky revealing an Ultra Beast. It was none other than Buzzwole! Leah quickly healed Houndoom and Mega Evolved it. "What is that!" Bonnie exclaimed. Ash gasped. "Buzzwole!" Ash exclaimed. Gladion went to help Leah as he sent out Silvally. "Remember how we defeated it?" Leah asked Gladion. "Yeah, Silvally unleash the beast within accept this Flying Memory!" Gladion said. "Houndoom you know what to do! Mega evolve!" Leah exclaimed. "But you just Mega evolved it earlier." Gladion told Leah. "I know, but Mega Evolution works differently than Z-Moves, since this is a different battle I can still Mega evolve Houndoom." Leah explained. "Now Houndoom use Fire Blast and You Glaceon use Frost Breath!" Leah told her Partners. "Silvally use Multi-Attack!" Gladion told Silvally. Buzzwole resisted Houndoom's Fire Blast and Glaceon's Frost Breath. "Oh what the fpsts!" Leah said before Gladion stopped her from saying a curse word. "If you're going to make a good impression, don't use curse words." Gladion told Leah. "Okay, Okay!" Leah said. "Alright, Houndoom use Foul Play!" Leah told Houndoom. "Leah what are you doing!?" Gladion asked Leah. "What do you think I'm doing? I'm distracting it so you can make your move!" Leah told Gladion. Buzzwole sent Houndoom back which Houndoom fell on Leah. Leah grunted in pain. Houndoom realised it and immediately got off of Leah, luckily it was just a scratch, but that didn't stop Houndoom from feeling guilty for accidentally hurting its best friend. Leah got up and Gladion made the finishing blow, sending Buzzwole to where it came from. "You sure you're fine?" Gladion asked his girlfriend. "Yeah, but I can't say any better for Houndoom..." Leah told Gladion. Leah was right Houndoom reverted back to its original even before the battle was over, it felt bad for hurting its trainer. Leah tried calling out to it. "Houndoom..." Leah said. She pat her partner, "you don't have to feel bad for me, I'm fine, my priority is you, Glaceon, my team, and my friends, but if..." Leah said as she took off Houndoom collar that was holding the Houndoominite. "But if going our own ways will make you happy, then go ahead..." Leah told Houndoom she hugged her partner and cried, she didn't want to say good-bye. Gladion understood what was going on, but he stood there and watched. "I want you to be happier, but I know that you won't be with me... Go ahead Houndoom, leave me, I won't stop you..." Leah told Houndoom, she was still crying. Houndoom didn't wanted to leave Leah. Leah was the first human it trusted. Leah accepted it for who it was. Houndoom wasn't ready for a good-bye, not yet, not now. "Houndoom, Doom!" Houndoom said. "Wait you wanna stay? But I told you that you won't be happy by my side..." Leah told Houndoom. "Doom, houndoom, doom!" Houndoom said. "Thank you Buddy! Thank you so so much!" Leah said, she was still emotional. "So what's going on now?" Gladion asked. "Houndoom chose to stay!" Leah exclaimed as she put back the collar on Houndoom. "Wait, she didn't released it!" Lillie exclaimed. "Because Houndoom chose to stay, it wasn't ready to say good-bye." Kukui said.

And so our heroes continue their journey to Coumarine City, what surprises await them, we'll find out as the journey continues!

A/N: The whole Leah releasing Houndoom was inspired by something that could've happen to my dog, we didn't know what was wrong with it so we sent it to the vet to see what's wrong and turns out, Buddy was fine, he just had flees so we didn't put him down. Houndoom is a recarnation of Buddy, my gentle chocolate labrador.
