Faith's POV

"Anything come in the mail today?" I asked Kairi when I stepped through the door. I'm just getting back from being out all day.

"I mean anything other than bills, no." She said and went back to doing her homework at the kitchen table.

It's been a week since Dave has taken the test and it's still not here. Maybe it has come in here and he just didn't show me. Maybe he got the call? I need to calm down. It's safe to say that I've been on edge since the news dropped about this new baby. It's honestly all I can think about.

"Hi mom." The twins came into the kitchen and gave me a hug.

"Hey how was school? Any new friends?" Today was their first day at their new school and I was nervous about that too on top of everything else.

Dave and I decided to let the kids go to public school. There was nothing wrong with it to begin with. We just wanted to give them an opportunity we didn't have when we were their ages.

The twins go to an elementary school that's ten minutes from the house, Kaiden goes to a middle school that's ten minutes in the other direction, where he still wears the basic uniforms that many middle schools have, and my oldest girls go to a high school that's beside Kaiden's school.

"It was good and we have classmates, not friends mommy." Lena scrunched her face up.

"No one stuck out to you? No one you'd want to be friends with?"

They turned to look at each other then back to me. "Naaaa." They shook their heads and walked to the table to start their homework.

"Where's Ella?" I asked Kairi.

"At work. She gets off at nine tonight."

"Hey ma." Kaiden walked in and gave me a kiss on my cheek. "Do you know when dad will be back. I need his help with something."

"No I don't. I can help you if you want." I offered.

"No I'm good. It's a guy thing." He nervously chuckled and walked out. I don't even want to know. I'll let his dad handle whatever that is.

The doorbell rung and I ran to the door to greet them. "Hi beautiful." I cooed at my goddaughter, Taylor who is now a little over three months old, almost four.

"Oh so you don't see us standing right here?" Alexis asked with her hands on her hips.

"Yeah hi. Can you shut my door?" I said still smiling at Taylor and walking over to the couch with her car seat in hand.

"Give me my baby back since you-"

"No, no." I laughed and looked over at her. "Hey y'all. How's everything been going?" I asked, then proceeded to take her out of her car seat.

"Girl I'm tired. You didn't tell me it would be this hard." Lexi flopped down on the couch and August went somewhere else in the house after he gave me a quick hug.

"Tell me about it." I shook my head. "That bad, huh?" I looked over at her with her arm covering her eyes.

"Yes. She has me up all night and she has early mornings. Then I have to get back to work even though August said that he's good and I can take all the time I need. I don't want to take time, I want to work." August is computer hardware engineer. Her and Taylor are well taken care of, but I understand where she's coming from.

"I get it. You know how I was after I had Kaiden. I wanted to jump back in but you can't. My best advice is to lean on your husband and to take this time to relax and enjoy your baby. You know they grow fast."
