Dave's POV

June

Faith has been blowing a nigga phone up all morning and I haven't answered. I'm trying to make sure these kids get on this flight safely before I leave the airport. I'm sending them to their grandparents for a month since it's summer break.

Kairi graduated two weeks ago and the younger kids are just getting out for break so they gettin out of here. My wife needs a break.

She's a champ and I appreciate her so this month is all about her. Whatever she wants to do, we doing it. She wanna go on a vacation of our own? I'm booking the flights, the hotel, and the transportation.

"When do we come back?" Lela looked up at me and asked.

"In July."

"But what if I don't want to go?" She asked.

"Too bad." I shrugged. "You need to get back to your roots."

"But she was barely one, if that, before we moved though. She don't count." Kaiden said trying to be funny.

"You grew up here so you don't count either." Kairi said and laughed.

"Girl you were what? Nine when we moved here? Cut it out." He said back.

"Who cares?" I said. "They're my roots so my sperm made it so they go through y'all." We walked up to the counter to check them in.

"What's sperm?" Lena asked.

"Don't even worry about it." Ella said and laughed to herself while holding Imani in her arms.

"She ain't heavy?" I asked. That little girl can eat so I know she got some weight on her.

"Very, but it's cool. I got you fat mama." She cooed and kissed her cheek. "She ain't no bean no more. This girl a whole garden."

I checked them in and we started the fair wells. "Listen to your sister and Ella. I don't want to get no calls or text that y'all don't know how to act. Especially you." I pointed at Lela. She like to cut up when her mom and I are not around.

"I won't." She smiled but I know she bout to be on her bullshit.

"I'm deadass. You act up in an airport, they take little girls like you away and they put you in cages with clowns." I said to scare her. I have no idea why but this child is terrified of clowns.

Her eyes got big and she held onto Kairi. I stood up and placed a big smile on my face. "I love you all." I kissed them each. "And I'll see y'all when I see you. Make sure one of you call me when you get there. Or text me. It doesn't matter just as long as someone lets me know."

They gave me big hugs and then they were off to tsa. Now. Back to my lovely wife. I made it to the house in thirty minutes since Atlanta traffic is terrible. I'm ready to make another move but I don't want to bring it up to Faith because I know how she is.

"Boo." I said when I stepped through the door.

"I'm in the living room." I walked in to meet her. "Something wrong with your phone?" She asked without turning around.

"No. You called?"

"Don't play with me." She said with an attitude. She'll be all over me when she hears what I did. "Where are my kids?"
