"Y/n! Y/n!" Star exclaimed as she ran up the stairs to your shared room. It woke you up, and you sat up groggily.
"What?" You asked.
Her eyes were wide and her expression was bright. She was grinning.
"The adoption! It's approved!"

A few days later, the two of you were signing papers in a tiny, orderly office at the orphanage. For months now, you two had been trying to add this little toddler to your family.
He was currently sitting in a chair patiently, scribbling in a dog themed coloring book with some worn-down crayons. He was adorable, with dark skin and brown eyes that would light up at pretty much everything.
"And that's all. You guys are free to take him home," the lady you were working with said.
The little boy, Benjamin, grinned.
"Are you ready to go home?" Star asked him.
Over the last few days, you two had done so much shopping in anticipation for your son to come home. Neither of you could wait.
"Yes," Benjamin said.
Both of you took one of his hands, thanked the woman again, and left to start a whole new chapter in your lives.
