One week had passed and Ella was slowly started to like being in Brendon's embrace. Did she want to admit that? No. She was afraid that Brendon would rub it in her face, if she did.

Sighing, she closed the book she was reading, then made her way into the kitchen. It had been a few hours since Brendon left to go to his 'business' appointment.

Ella knew that he wasn't going to an appointment. In fact, she had heard his conversation over the phone just yesterday. He had been hired to kill or at least torture a couple people that some guy had hostage.

She didn't like it when he killed, but if that was what he found enjoyable, then she would have to deal with it. As Ella looked around for a butter knife, she finally heard herself think for once.

"Why the hell do I care about how Brendon feels?" She set the peanut butter down on the counter, then began to think. She couldn't be growing feelings. That was impossible.

'Oh, come on, Ella. You need to lighten up on the guy. He's really cute.'

Ella shook her head, trying to clear that thought out of her head. "Oh, my god. I think I've finally gone insane."

Before she could take a deep breath in, she heard a chuckled come from behind her. Gasping, Ella turned around to face Brendon. "Don't scare me like that!"

Brendon rolled his eyes, making his way over to the sink with his bloody hands out in front of him. "I'm sorry, darling. I just wanted to see how you would react. That's all."

Ella narrowed her eyes, scoffing. "You didn't know how I was going to act? Brendon, how dumb do you think I am?"

He chuckled again, then looked at her. "I didn't say you were dumb. In fact, I was just trying to scare you and you decided to come after me for it."

Ella pursed her lips, crossing her arms. She opened her mouth to say something else, but nothing came out as she realized that they were fighting like a married couple.

"You know, what? Forget it." Ella began to walk out of the room, but felt a hand grab her own. She looked down, biting her lip.

"I know you don't go down without a fight, Ella. Something is wrong and you're gonna tell me." Ella shook her head, then sighed.

"Nothing is wrong, Brendon. I'm just thinking about what I'm going to do with my school work. You won't let me leave the house."

Brendon smirked, then pulled her closer. "You've been a good girl this week. Maybe I could let you go back to school and continue your studies."

Ella smiled, kissing him on the cheek. "Thank you, Brendon." He smiled back, caressing her cheek with the side of his hand.

"No problem at all, doll. You can go back tomorrow, but you have a long drive ahead of you. Go get some rest."

Ella nodded, then began to head upstairs, but was stopped by Brendon saying something. "I will be going with you. I don't fully trust you after you decided to shoot me."

Ella bit her lip, nodding her head, then continued upstairs. Little did Brendon know, this is what she had been waiting for. This was the green light for her plan.
