August 2017

Patri's POV:

"We won!!" I ran around the field.

I was tackled by my teammates as we celebrated.

We just won the U19 UEFA Women's Championship.

"You did that!" Carmen grabbed me. "You won the game."

I smiled and looked around. "We're champions."

Jessica's POV:

"I need a new job." I sighed as I locked up. "Like no."

"Spain is looking for a new trainer?" My coworker said.

"Spain isn't going to hire a 21-year-old to look after their players."

"They might if the team is the under 20 team." She smiled. "The under 19 team just won the UEFA Championship. You want to work in that field, I say go for it. Besides some of those girls are cute."

"I hope you're only talking about the girls that are over 18."

"Of course." She winked.

That's how I ended up where I currently was.

Getting everything in order to become an official trainer. Once that was settled, I went in for the job.

"You're hired!"

"Seriously?" I smiled. "I've been told I'm too young all the time."

"Well, who's going to be better for these young women, than another young woman?" I nodded. "We need someone, you came to us and you're going to be a good fit."

April 2018

Patri's POV:

"The U20 World Cup is a few months out. We're the European champions. I expect us to do good here. First things first. We got a new member of our medical staff. This is Jessica Rodriguez."

"She can't be much older than us." Carmen whispered.

"She's beautiful." I stared at her.

"Oh great." Lucia smirked. "Patri has a crush."

I shook my head. "Huh?"

"Hi. I'm Jessica Rodriguez. You can call me Jess, my friends do." She smiled. "Looking forward to working with all of you."

"Any questions for our newest staff member?"

"I got this." Lucia whispered and raised her hand.

"Yes."

"How old are you?"

Jess laughed and looked down. "I just turned 22. So yeah I know you're all thinking that I look young. And I am, but I'm here to do my job. Like all of you are."

We went out to the field and started practicing. She walked around and met each of us one by one. "Hello." She walked up to me.

"Um uh. You. Huh." I stared at her. "Hi." I finally got out.

She laughed. "I'm Jess."

"Yeah."

"And you are?"

"Me? What?"

"Patri." Carmen ran over. "This is Patri. Patri Guijarro."

"Patri." Jess nodded. "Nice to meet you."

"Hmm."

"I'm Carmen."

"Nice to meet you too. I'm going to go over there now." She walked away.

"No, come back." I whispered.

"Are you stupid?" Carmen turned to me.

"You did see that didn't you? You know the answer."

"You like her!"

"Don't you have to go call Lola or something?"

"No. Why would I have to call Lola? I call Lola when I want to call Lola!"

"Little defensive there Carmen?" Laia asked.

"Way to go Patri! Now I have to go call Lola!" Carmen walked off.

"And YOU have to go flirt with our hot new trainer." Laia smirked.

"What!"

"You heard me. Go talk to her!" She pushed me.

I stopped right in front of her. "Hi." She turned around. "Patri? Right?"

"Yeah." I smiled. "Patri. That's me! I'm Patri."

She laughed. "What can I do for you Patri?"

"Oh! Nothing I just wanted to get to know our new trainer."

"Well, what do you want to know?"

"ARE YOU SINGLE!" Laia yelled.

Jess laughed and looked down. "Yes, Laia. I am. I actually just got out of a relationship."

"Great!" I smiled. "I mean that's sad, but good that you're not in a relationship anymore. I'm gonna stop talking now."

"You're cute." I felt my cheeks heat up. "You're on to something though, Patri. I'm going to be working closely with all of you. I want you to feel comfortable talking to me, so, please. Any questions about me, just ask." She smiled and walked away.

"Can I have your number." I whispered as she walked away.

"Oh my god." Ona stood in shook. "You are horrible."

"Yeah, I know." I looked down.

"But we have enough time to fix it." She smiled.

"How are we going to fix THAT." Laia asked.

"Again." Ona said. "We have enough time. It's going to talk A LOT of it, but I'm confident in all of us. In Patri? Not so much."

"Thanks guys." I rolled my eyes.

"Do you want to date Jess or not?"

"She's my trainer now. That's awkward." I crossed my arms.

"As soon as this World Cup is over, you're going back to the senior team. Then she won't be your trainer anymore."

"Then I won't see her."

"Oh my god, Patri! Let us handle this!" They all walked away.

I looked at Jess one more time. She turned to me and I quickly looked away. "Guys wait up!" I ran after my teammates.
