It's been 8 months since Sienna started as Head of Trauma Surgery at Chicago Med. It didn't even take a day for the staff to respect her and love her. It didn't take a week for the rest of the Chicago family of Fire and PD to love her as well. She's now part of the Chicago family, and it's honestly the best family a girl, without a blood family of her own, to have.

She just finished her last scheduled surgery for the day when she gets a 911 page to the pit.

She and Natalie are the two surgeons on this case. Both of them wait for the paramedics to open the door.

"What do we have?" Sienna asks as soon as Gabby Dawson steps out of the ambo.

"34-year-old Lucy Thomas, a self-inflicted stab wound to the abdomen. She's 34 weeks pregnant."

"Take her to trauma room 1." Sienna orders. "Thanks Gabby" She rushes off and runs with the nurses and Natalie to trauma room 1.

Natalie looks troubled as she monitors the baby's heartbeat. Sienna is doing an oral examination to figure out exactly what organs are ruptured. Because she's pregnant, they have to be careful.

"How can a married woman, pregnant, do this to herself?"

Sienna sighs, "We don't know the back story. The husband can be abusive?"

Natalie frowns, "You've probably seen a lot of these shit, haven't you?"

"I have" Sienna nods her head; she gives Natalie a small smile. "My first tour there was a girl, she was barely 14 and her uncle knocked her up. He raped her constantly. She came to me a few times with knife wounds to her stomach. She said she wanted to kill the baby to protect it from also getting raped by the uncle."

Natalie frowns in disgust, "There are some sick people out there."

"Yeah there are. We can't judge her before we know the story, so let's save her and her baby okay?"

"Okay." Natalie smiles

The heart monitor flares up, "She's lethargic. Push two of epi" Sienna calls.

"We need to get in there" Natalie murmurs. "Get me an OR with a NICU tank"

"Copy that" A nurse yells in the background.

"Doctor Roberts, her CT scans came back clear. No permanent deficits"

"Thanks, Lewis" She murmurs to the intern. "Okay, what's our plan of action?"

Natalie shrugs, "You're the attending; you call the shots."

Sienna checks the scans again, "The knife wound ruptured her liver – there's internal damage to her spleen. I'm going to have to get in ASAP but if you don't do a crash C now, the baby's going to suffocate."

Natalie nods, "On it."

The surgery ends in success after 9 hours. Sienna is busy drinking a cup of strong coffee to wake her up a bit. It's midnight now and like Natalie said earlier, three hours into both surgeons' overtime.

"Si" She smiles when Antonio walks up to her. Sienna smiles and hugs him tightly, the smell of aftershave overwhelming her senses.

"This is a nice surprise." She grins. She feels like a teenager again – having a crush on a boy. But Antonio's not a boy, he's a man and it's not a crush. She's falling for the detective. She's falling for him hard and fast.

"Jay says you're working overtime. I uh, I actually wanted to ask you out today but then he told me you're uh, working overtime."

The doctor smiles brightly, feeling giddy as hell. "You want to ask me on a date?"

He nods, "What are you doing tomorrow evening at 8?"

"I'm going on a date with you detective."

Antonio smiles at her as he walks forward to kiss her forehead. "I'll pick you up at 8. I'll see you then gorgeous."

"See you then"
