Chapter 24

After Y/N fell asleep, I stayed with her for a while before I walked out and closed the door behind me. I went to check up on the kids and found them both in my son's room. 

They sat on the bed working on their math homework together and looked up when I came in.

"Daddy how is mommy?" Jihyun asked.

"She's fine, just tired." I walked towards the bed and sat in between them when they made space. "Don't tire her out too often ok?"

"Of course, mommy works hard." Jihyun nods.

"We're good children!" Ji Ae adds. 

I put an arm around each of them. "And I believe you." I looked at their homework and they had answered each question correctly, I couldn't help but feel a sense of pride. "You guys don't need help do you?"

"We're almost done." Jihyun says and flips to the last page of their work. "But..." 

I could see the unspoken words on his lips and smiled. "Do you want me to help you?"

They nod enthusiastically and I gave them help although they didn't need it. 

When they were finished with their homework, Jihyun sat in silence with a troubled look on his face. "What's wrong?"

"Did mommy cry?"

"No..." I said confused. "Why would you say that?"

"Because mommy always cry." Ji Ae answers. "Mommy cry at night in her bed and she thinks we don't know." 

My chest started to tighten. "Why?" 

"Uncle Jimin." They both say at the same time. "Grandpa. Mrs. Park." 

"When Mrs. Park calls mommy will get mad and stay in her room for the rest of the night." Jihyun looked pissed. I didn't know a 7 year old could muster a face like that.

"The next day mommy will cry for Uncle Jimin." Ji Ae responds not even a breath after.

"And when grandpa calls to ask mommy for money, it's both." They finish at the same time as if they've repeated this thousands of times. They probably had but to who?

The twins turn to me and I looked back and forth between them. 

"But mommy came back for grandpa because he's sick. Even if grandpa made mommy angry and sad, family is family and mommy forgave him long ago." 

It was probably the same reason why Jimin could never fully hate his mom after Y/N left him.

"Don't make mommy sad again daddy." Jihyun gives me a threatening look that looked identical to my own. 

"I won't. I promise." I nodded. "If I do then I don't have the right to be called your daddy and be with your mom ok?" 

"You better keep that promise." 

I couldn't help but smile and ruffle both their heads. "Go get ready for bed."

"Daddy will you stay with us?" Ji Ae begs. 

"Do you want me to?" 

"Yea!" Ji Ae nods. "Uncle Jimin stayed with mommy last week." 

"Did he." I gritted my teeth, feeling a tinge of jealously. No, it's fine. They decided to part ways. But still... That was when they still had feelings for each other, she let him stay. 

"Because daddy made mommy cry that day, you said that you didn't want us." Jihyun grumbles and I still felt guilty for the argument we had that day.
