Chapter 45

Bella/ Mariah's POV 😇

11 pm (few hours before Derek's POV)

"I can't believe that you just let him wander around with a gun when there's a criminal who has been killing teenagers" I hit the desk Reece was leaning on showing my clear distaste in regards to the situation.

Caleb stood by my side silently watching.

"He can handle himself." The man sitting at the desk waved off unfazed by my yelling.

"He is barely eighteen years old. What were you thinking? What if something happens to him."

"Well I would not have not done that if our agent was not busy playing with the teacher instead of completing the mission," He snapped sending me a pointed look.

I huffed out as I sent him a murderous glare. I felt a hand on my shoulder and looked at Caleb who seemed to tell me to calm down I took a couple of breaths.

"So you sent Jared and that too alone!?"  I asked incredulously after composing myself.

"..."

He remained silent as if he finally understood his mistake.

"It's not terrible we can cover his death plus think about it losing one life for the cost of solving this mystery and saving tons of youth."

That dirty piece of mole.

I'm done playing by the rules. I lurched forward and pulled the man by his collar. "How could you!? He has his life ahead of him. Who are you to decide that it's the end for him." I yelled.

"Wh-at are y--ou-" He gasped out and reached out to press the alarm button.

The alarm rang and suddenly security guards entered the office with guns pointed towards me.

I threw my head back and let out a humourless laugh before pointing a gun to the boss.

"Now Reece tell the guards to drop their guns and to go to the room next door." I pressed the gun harder to his head making it clear that I wasn't joking.

"You heard her do what she asked." He cried out as armed men dropped their weapons on the floor and followed what Reece said. Or more like what I said.

"Caleb when I tell you I want you to lock the room with them all inside and pick up all the weapons," He didn't move for a second.

"If not I'll shoot him." I let out and he nodded frantically as he rushed out.

"Where is the GPS? I asked Reece.

"What are you talking about?" The man pretended to be confused, but I saw right through his act.

I twisted his arm in a painful manner, "The GPS that you have set on all agents I want it. NOW."

"How did you know?" He questioned and I could see the fear in his eyes.

"It's on the laptop on my desk," He yelped out as I put more pressure on his arms.
