Chapter 46

Bella/ Mariah's POV 😇

"What are you doing!" I screeched on top of my lungs jabbing Derek with my elbow in the process.

He winced and then glared. "I'm carrying you. What does it look like?"

"It looks like you're taking advantage of me." I retorted slapping his chest.

"First of all, you weren't complaining at the hospital, and secondly look who's talking you were practically feeling my muscles just a moment ago." He said with a triumph smirk on his face.

I scoffed before going silent.

We just entered my house and after the long eventful day, I just wanted to eat and cry.

"Thanks for bringing me home Derek. Now lay me down on that couch and get out." I said politely with a strained smile.

"Why are you so moody?"

"Moody?" I repeated murderously.

Oh, that's it.

I reached out at the closest thing to me which happens to be a vase and threw at him, but sadly he ducked missing it and the vase broke- tiny pieces of glass scattered around the room- a death in vain indeed.

"Chill." He gulped with his hands up in a surrounding manner.

"Chill?" I scoffed.

"I am very chill. Now get out." I added in a matter of fact tone crossing my arms over my chest.

He rose his brow and I limped or tried to make my way out of the room.

"Why do you keep running away?" He frustratedly let out making me halt in my steps.

"What are you so afraid of?" He questioned and suddenly I could feel his breath fanning my neck.

"Did you ever think that maybe just maybe this isn't only for my good, but also yours?" I asked.

"Because you can't handle the truth." I added.

"How can you decide that by yourself?" He inquired and I turned to face him. My grey eyes staring deeply into his green ones.

"Oh so when you decided by yourself six years ago to cut off ties with me in order to keep me safe, I didn't get to have a say in it and now when you decided to come back into my life, I'm just supposed to go with it. But when I make a decision I need to discuss it with you?" I asked in disbelief.

"Why do you keep bringing up the past?" He tugged his hair.

I let out a humourless laugh.

"Because for you maybe it has been six years but for me, it's just been one month, and it's extremely hard for me to deal with everything." I sneered.

"What do you mean?"

"I didn't run away Derek. I was in an accident that day when I last saw you. I didn't run away or whatever you thought. Truth is I lost all of my memories, you arse! While you had your friends, I was alone with someone who I thought was trustworthy. Then he finally told me the truth and I came back here because I wanted to know more, I wanted to see my home. I wanted to fill the emptiness inside my chest. But I wasn't welcome here. I tried coming but I was told to go back that you were all finally happy and didn't want to have anything to do with me. The time I saw Ace in the mall I really didn't know who he was but I understood that he was someone from my past. I got most of my memories the day I saw you on the rooftop. For me everything that has happened it's only been since the time I saw you again. Only a month. I never got a chance to deal with this. After seeing you again my life started collapsing down. You make me feel lonely, sad, jealous." I ranted out.
