It was now July and the weather was hot. LA was pumping with tourism and natives out and about. Toni was preparing everything for her proposal to Janet. She was so excited and couldn't wait. She had been planning this since they had visited her mother back in May. It took some time to put together, now everything was falling into place. Toni had told Janet they were going on a date but it was a surprise.

She told Janet to dress in something comfortable for the day. Janet dressed in a comfortable pair of shorts with a bikini top covered with a tank top and some cute red bottom sandals. Toni was dressed in something similar, she had on shorts that showcased her butt and a half shirt with espadrilles. They went to lunch at a little café about 20 minutes outside of LA. After leaving the café, Joey drove them to a botanical garden. It was beautiful filled with thousands of blooming flowers.

Toni grabbed Janet's hand and lead her to a spot surrounded by a wall of shrubbery. In front of them was a beautiful fountain of a mother and child watering flowers. It was bronze and weathered but still a site to behold. To the left of the fountain was the entrance to a shrubbery and flower maze. There was a surprise waiting for them in the middle. Janet and Toni walked together, hand-in-hand, admiring the flowers, there were so many flowers blooming.

They walked closer to the middle of the maze. In the middle was a bistro style table with two chairs. The table was set with wine glasses and summer fruits. Toni led Janet to the table and they both sat down.

"Janet, I brought you here today for something special."

"I am nervous, you never call me by my full name."

"That's because there is something important, I want to ask you."

"What is it Toni?"

"You are the light of my life. You inspire me every day. Our love is pure and endless. You hold me up when I'm down. You are my shining star, my constant, my heart. You forgave me for a decision that not everyone would have. My heart is intertwined with yours and there's no way it can be separated. I brought you here today because this place reminds me so much of you. It's beautiful inside and out just like you. I love your spirit, your uniqueness, your creativity, your individuality, the way you love hard, the way you interact with everyone, the way you love your family. I love the way you love me so selflessly. I even love that freaky side of you." They laughed. "You give much more than I can take. You are my heart and the love of my life." She moved out of her seat and got on one knee. "I said all of this because Janet Damita Jo Jackson I would love to call you my wife. Will you marry me?" Toni spoke from her heart.

"Yes," Janet said through her tears. "Yes, I will marry you. I love you." She grabbed Toni and kissed her.

"So you remember the chain I gave you for Christmas?" They were hugging with their arms wrapped around each other.

"Yes baby, I remember."

"Since we aren't ready to tell everybody about us, I want you to put your engagement ring on it and keep near your heart. For now I want it to stay on your finger." Janet smiled at her and kissed her nose.

"So you've been planning this for a while?"

"Yep, I sure have. I knew that first night we were back together that I was going to marry you because I'm not letting you get away again. I love you." She kissed Janet's lips.

"I love you too, Boop." They kissed passionately again.

"Our day isn't over we have to go see someone." Joey escorted them back to the SUV. Toni said you know where to go. Joey drove for about another ten minutes until they pulled up to the Jackson estate. The guard let them in and Joey drove down the driveway and parked. He helped them out of the SUV and then went around the house to the pool where he heard the kids playing.
