The Real Me

Nightmare

"Grandma will be really happy to see us, you two greet her properly alright?" My mom said as we were on our way to our grandparents.

"Okay mom!" Nat replied with enthusiasm.

"You didn't answer Ben." Mom said in the same cold tone.

"Yes mother." Words weren't coming out because of the pain in my throat. But she didn't care.

"You better behave properly Ben, or else no food for a week." Dad said in his hoarse voice with no mercy.

"What choice do I have anyways?" Wait- Did I say it out loud?

"What did you just say!?" Dad yelled and turned around to look at me.

"Honey, watch out!!" Mom yelled as another car appeared in front of us.

Crash!!!!

"No! Nat! NOOOOOO!!!!" I opened my eyes instantly and looked around. Uncle was sitting beside me, "Ben! Jesus Christ you scared me".

He hugged me as I was shaking and tears were running down my cheeks. "Uncle, Nat- he was looking at me with those dead eyes."

"Shhhhh, It's okay, it was just another nightmare. You'll be fine."

After so many nightmares of that accident, I should've been used to it but.... I'm not. "Here, take the pills." Uncle said as he handed me over my anti-anxiety pills. Without these pills I wouldn't have survived this long. "Get ready, you have a picnic today. Sin is going too remember?"

"Yeah, I'll be fine. You can go to work now."

"Okay if you say so, breakfast is ready all you need to do is eat. Be careful on the trip." He patted me on the head and left, the sound of the closed door echoed all over my room.

"That was not a good start, but Sin is waiting for me." I said to myself and went to the washroom.

"Sin!!!" I waved at her. I was the only one left so the bus was waiting for me. We entered the bus and took a seat. "You aren't gonna ask me why I'm late?"

"None of my business."

"I'll make it your business, just you wait."

"Try me." Thanks to her I am always on full competitive mode.

"Can I put my head on your shoulder? I'm sleepy."

"You are digging your own grave."

"Jeez fine." And I fell asleep even before I knew it. I didn't put my head on her shoulder and arrived at the spot in one piece.

"It was supposed to be a picnic but it seems a famous celebrity gave us a huge budget so it's a three day trip now. All the guardians have been informed about it. Go to your assigned hotel room after checking all your luggage." The teacher said.

All the students were happy except our hacker. "Your parents already know so don't worry and enjoy the trip." I said.

"It's not that." She frowned.

"What is it then?"

"I'm in the same room as Miranda."

"The same girl whom you taught a lesson in the cafeteria the day?"

"Yeah."
