We successfully returned from Hawaii and went home. It was a fun little trip and I also found some things about that hacker.

But our summer holidays aren't over yet and I was invited to Lucas's birthday party. So I'm getting ready to go there. I don't usually dress up but the party is huge, like a royal ball. So I wore a dress that is super uncomfortable and heels. If I don't return home in one piece, you know why.

Those two were invited too but Ben couldn't come cause he caught a cold. Chase decided to escort me since we live in the same neighborhood.

"A lady must never go to a ball alone." As Chase says. We reached the venue and I was stunned! It was a 30 storey hotel for VIPS!! I know I shouldn't be surprised but I am. I didn't know Lucas's family was THIS rich.

We went inside and arrived at the assigned room. This place was full of people with a DJ and a bartender. Smoke was all over the place and it smelled like champagne with puking noises in the background since the washrooms were right beside the entrance. I thought I came at the wrong place but no, this was the hell I dressed up for.

"LET'S SHOW OUR FACES TO LUCAS AND GET OUT OF HERE!" I had to yell since the music was fucking loud. Chase agreed.

We saw Lucas and he was sitting on a couch with two girls beside him. "Lucas, where is Dee?" I asked.

"Oh she didn't tell you? We broke up." He didn't even look at me while answering.

"Y-YOU WHAT!?" Why don't I know about this- "HOW- WHEN!?"

"She'll tell you the details. She must be drinking at the bar."

Rule number 1 when you're pissed: If your blood is boiling because of a human being, then wait for karma to fuck them up and don't do anything by yourself. They aren't worth your time and effort. If they are really as bad as you think, they'll meet their karma eventually.

"I just came to say happy birthday. I actually have another party so I need to go. Have fun!"

I dragged Chase with me to the bar. Dee was actually there about to take a shot when I stopped her. She didn't look drunk but she was teary eyed.

"I wanna hear your side of the story." I said and dragged her out of the party.

I took her to the rooftop and she started talking. "He said that he slept with another girl while drunk and now he likes her more than me. I said that we could try to work it out but he insisted that it's time to break up and that I'm not as amazing as I used to be. He said he has been feeling like that for months but never had the courage to talk to me so he went to drink it out and that happened."

Tears rolling down her cheeks as she spoke, the sight was dreadful.

"What was I supposed to say to that?" She came closer and hugged me really tight.

"You did a great job. But drinking will make it even worse. If you need someone to talk to, I'm here so let it all out." That's all I needed to say before she started bawling uncontrollably.

She cried for hours and we called her parents to pick her up. Chase was with me the entire time just silently observing me from afar.

He wasn't as bad as I thought he would be.

"Why were you so silent today?" I asked him.

"She needed you the most, so I pretended like I wasn't there. But I had to follow you since guys like Lucas were in the same building. I'm actually surprised that you didn't lash out at him."

"He wasn't worth it, besides I prefer peaceful, successful murder over annoying, already gonna fail attempts."

"So karma is the key huh." He smiled at me.

"Exactly."

"You were quite human and less cold today."

"I am like that to people I care about and Dee is at the top of that list."

"Looks like I have a rival."

"We'll see abou-" I was interrupted by his lips stealing a quick kiss from mine, "that..."

"That was my first step on being the top of your list." He smiled like an idiot and I could feel my cheeks getting hotter every second. WHY DID I HAVE TO LET MY GUARD DOWN- SQWBXZKOFMEJ-

He dropped me home. I was silent and red during the whole journey with my heart beat going crazy.

"We have arrived milady, give me your hand in case you fall with those heels." His hands are so warm and gentle- WTH AM I SAYING- I think I need a break.

"Thanks, have a good night." I left even before he could say anything. I'm literally burning and that scene is coming on my mind non stop. I hope I'm not like this tomorrow.

Chase's POV

"That was my first step on being the first on your list." I said and held her hand.

It didn't take me long to realize that I didn't take her consent and this was basically me forcing my lips on her.

But.. why is she so red- I can feel her heartbeat from my hand.

I-It's going crazy-
I looked at her face and she was blushing till her ears, that made me blush as well but I had to drop her home.
