Your POV

It's been a week since that plan to capture the turtles went south. Shredder's been furious at you ever since. But since that was your first mission, he let it slide, but not without threatening you. Regardless, you are on a patrol with your own little team and you told them to split up so they could cover a larger area. So you take that alone time to relax. Shredder's patience is running out, but so is yours. So no wonder you are trying to rush your plan of escape. For some reason, as you saw the turtles for the first time, you had the feeling in your gut that they could be your ticket out of that hell. Now, how would you deal with them? Would they trust you? You are their enemy, so you wouldn't blame them if they didn't trust you. You let out a sigh as you look up at the stars.

Leo's POV

I'm running through the roofs as I'm in a solo patrol. I need more space to think about what happened last week. Mainly that Foot Clan soldier. She clearly knows a lot about strategy, and by her physical structure, I could tell she's got experience in combat. But I wonder... Why did her eyes look so sad? And did they really spark with a bit of hope when she saw us or was I only seeing things? I let out a sigh. She hasn't gotten out of my mind ever since that day. Ever since then, I've been feeling an urge to see her again. But would she attack me? Or was there any chance of her willing to talk?

I stop on a random roof and take a breath as I also take that chance to think. (Don't get your hopes too high, Leo. She's a member of the Foot, remember? Shredder must've filled her head with crazy stories and convinced her that we are the enemy.) Still... I feel like that's not true. If she really was that skilled, she could've killed us if she wanted to, and yet she didn't. Why? Shredder's orders? Her own will? There's no way I can know without talking with her.

I look around and my eyes widen as I see her just standing there on a rooftop near the one I'm at. I can't help but stare at her. After a bit, she rubs the back of her neck and her shoulders. She looks tense. Before I can think twice, I jump onto the rooftop she's at and slowly approach her. But when I'm almost 3ft away from her she suddenly turns and aims her sword at me. Actually, it's on my neck, so I freeze. I stare at her eyes. They're cold and alert, but I can tell they're trying to hide something else. Still, I slowly raise my hands. "It's okay. I'm not here to fight you."

"Then what do want?" She askes seriously. "I just want to talk."

"Why?"

I hesitate, but in this sort of moments, you just gotta take a leap of faith and hope they'll believe you as you tell them the truth. "Because I think you don't want to be in the Foot Clan. I think you're being forced to do whatever they tell you, and that you want to get away from all that." Her eyes widen for a second and she looks to the side. "But feel free to prove me wrong." I say and lock my eyes on her. As I feel her out more pressure on my neck I close my eyes. Then...

"You are sharper than I thought." She says and pulls the sword away before putting it back on its sheath. "Even more than I was told. No wonder you've cause so much trouble to the Foot Clan." She raises her hand and I shake it. "I'm Y/n. And if I remember well, you are Leonardo, yes?"

I nod and smile. "That's right, but you can call me Leo." She nods. "So... You were really forced, huh?"

"Yeah. I've been trying to think of an escape plan, but so far I'm not having so much luck."

"Well... Maybe all you need is some help." She turns to me with wide eyes before raising a brow. "Are you serious?" I nod, then she crosses her arms. "What's your plan?"

I think about it for a bit, but then I have an idea and I start telling her my crazy plan to get her free. I know I shouldn't trust her like that, but now that I may have an idea of what's going on, I want to help her. I want to see her smile.

Timeskip

Karai's POV

It's been a long time since Y/n's group went off. (Something's wrong. I don't like it.) Just then, the soldiers of her group show up. "*Panting* Karai! We've got bad news."

"What is it? Come on, just say it!" I yell at them. "Y/n was captured by the turtles. We tried to get her back, but it didn't work. We lost them." I can feel my blood running cold. What will I say to master Shredder?

Leo's POV

Okay, so the plan wasn't that crazy. We would just pretend that I captured her and took her with me to our lair. Which is not a lie, at least not all of it. Now the problem would be explaining all of it to my brothers. Luckily, she had her own plan concerning that part. So we just went to an abandoned building to get it. Once inside, she leads the way to one of the apartments and heads to one of the rooms. "What's up with this place?" I ask. "It used to be my home. But when the Foot Clan got me and everyone of the building got the word of it, they left. But I still keep a few things around. Wait here." She tells me and I oblige taking that chance to look around. There are a few punching bags on a corner. After a bit, she's back and my eyes widen. I doubt I would recognize her if I only met her like she is right now. She's wearing jeans, boots, a tank top, a jacket and her mask is off so I'm finally able to se her face, and boy does she look pretty. "Convincing?" She askes bringing off my trance. "Pretty much." I say as I smile. "Thank you." She says before grabbing a bag and throwing it over her shoulder. "What's that?" I ask. "Training stuff. Y'know. Gloves, ranges, that kind of thing."

"What about your ninja gear?"

"I'm leaving it behind. When they find out what really happened, they'll come for me, but I'm pretty good at keeping a low profile, so it should take some time until they find me." I smile and nod. "Great. Come on, we should get going." I start to leave, but I turn around as I realize she's not following me. "What's wrong?"

Your POV

You are frozen in your spot. Freedom seems to be so close to your reach it actually scares you. No wonder you start shaking. "D-Do you really think I can do this? Run away from all of this? From the Foot? From the... S-Shredder?" As you are still on your spot, Leo walks up to you and holds your shoulders. "Hey... I get it if you're scared. But it's okay. You'll be safe with me and the others, nothing will hurt you. I promise."

"*Chuckles* I doubt your brothers will trust me with the same ease you are. If you doubt, they'll kick me away the first chance they get."

"That won't happen." You look up to him with your eyes wide. "How are you so sure of it?" You ask him. Then, he opens a sincere, kind and reassuring smile that seems to wash away all your worries. "Because I won't let it happen. I won't let anyone hurt you ever again. So don't worry. Yes, you can leave it all behind, and you can be happy. And I can't wait to see you smile." Tears form on your eyes and you let them out as you sob and wrap your arms around him. After a moment of shock, he hugs you back tightly, and he, unknown to you, doesn't plan on letting you go that soon. "Thank you, Leo... Thank you so much..."
