"I also feel the same way." <Eric>

Eric too confessed. But from how Yuna reacted, it didn't seem to convince her.

"Yeah, right. Haha... You're just randomly saying that, aren't you?" <Yuna>

"No, I really do." <Eric>

Eric once again say it, but it was to no avail.

"Proof it to me. All this time, I've never seen you acted as such, so how can I be convinced?" <Yuna>

Yuna should have been happy that Eric said that he too liked her. But due to the circumstances, she can't really be convinced without any proof.

But suddenly Eric took out something from his pocket.

And seeing that thing, Yuna's eyes went wide.

"That's..." <Yuna>

"This is the gift you got for me on my 7th birthday." <Eric>

The thing in Eric's hand was a pocket watch that he had gotten as a birthday gift from Yuna. It was lavishly designed with red gems embedded around it and was painted rose gold.

"I remembered you said that you had saved up quite a lot to buy for me this. You told me that when you first saw it, the gems reminded you of my hair and that it will suit me well. But at that time, you didn't have enough to afford it. And so, after 5 months, you managed to save up to buy it for me. When I heard it, I was really happy. I swore to you that day that I will keep it safely with me and always remember you whenver I hold it." <Eric>

Hearing Eric talk about such a past, Yuna's eyes slowly starting tearing up.

"The times that I was wondering around aimlessly after being banished, this was the one thing that kept me going. Thinking of you was what kept me from rotting away and choose death instead. That's why, when I said i also like you, I really mean it." <Eric>

Yuna finally spoke up.

"If all of that is true, then why didn't you come see me? If you've known my feelings for you, then why didn't you come seek for my help?" <Yuna>

The question that Yuna had always wanted to know finally was said.

"It's because that I know your feelings that I didn't want to see you. I was scared that you might stop liking if you saw me, after being banished from my own family." <Eric>

"That's cruel! You should know that those kinds of things won't change my feelings for you! Such a thing... Because of that you didn't want to look for me?" <Yuna>

"Haha..." <Eric>

A dry laugh came out from Eric's mouth.

"I know it's such a needless worry. But still being abandoned got onto me too much that I was scared that the only thing left that I can consider dear to me would also abandon me. So I was fine if I don't know it. As long as I don't see you, in the event you abandon me as well, I won't have to experience it. So that's why I didn't go see you... I just clung to the illusion that you didn't abandon me since I don't know the answer. I'm sorry..." <Eric>

Eric hung his head down after finally revealing his reasons for not seeking Yuna out.

Suddenly, he was embraced. Yuna who heard all that went and hug Eric.

"Yuna!?" <Eric>

Eric cried out at the sudden occurrence.

"I'm sorry too..." <Yuna>

"You have nothing to be sorry about, it was all my fault." <Eric>

"Maybe if I showed more interest in you and be more blatant with my feelings, then maybe you would understand that you can rely on me. But instead I just passively admire you." <Yuna>

"Well, you can't be blame for it. If I didn't show any affection in return, I can't expect you to be more assertive." <Eric>

Both Yuna and Eric are going back and forth on who is in the wrong. Neither were trying to blame the other, and at the same time blaming themselves instead.

Hearing enough of this endless argument, Layla decided it is time to intervene.

"Alright, that's enough you two." <Layla>

Both Yuna and Eric got startled at the sudden voice of Layla. They forgot that there were someone else in the room, after arguing with one another for so long.

"Both of you now finally understand each others circumstances and feelings, right? Then, isn't it good enough? Instead of further arguing who is in the right and wrong, why not start anew? What's in the past, shouldn't be forgotten, but neither should it affect how you act from now onwards." <Layla>

Hearing what Layla said, both Yuna and Eric agreed. They may have had their reasons for doing this and that, but now it's time to start over and move on.

"You're right. Eric, let's forget what had happened in the past. From now on, I will do my best to look after you." <Yuna>

"Alright, I might still have some faults, but I hope you can overlook it and correct me. I too will try to change and understand you more." <Eric>

Both of them finally are going to have a fresh start together.

Layla too is glad that they have reconciled.

"Well then, with that said, I'll be going with you to meet the Phantom guild." <Yuna>

"Y-Yes..." <Eric>

After reconciling, Eric no longer dare to refute her. Since they have both agreed to get along with one another from now on.
