"oh Betty, I'm so so sorry! I didn't mean to ask such a raw question" I walked over and pulled her into a hug
"no no it's okay, my therapist suggested that I openly talk about it, and your one of the first people I've openly talked to about it" she sighed
"oh, well I'm extremely thankful you feel comfortable enough to talk about that subject with me, thank you for sharing that with me" I pulled her tighter into the hug
"thank you" she sniffed and leaned into my embrace
"no worries-" I was interrupted
"daddy, you took Betty away" she frowned and crossed her arms over her chest
"sorry Abi, I'm coming now, your daddy kidnapped me! Quick run before he takes you too, run!" She giggled and Abi ran off screaming
"your so good with kids" I smiled as she ran off, I chased after them into her bedroom and it looked like a complete bomb site
"Abigail-Marie I'm hoping your going to clean your room!"

"Abi! Now he's going to find us" Betty whisper shouted and they both scurried from under her curtains

"hun, really, you do know there's only a certain amount of water in this house" i sighed

Time skip 3 hours
"Girls! I'm leaving for my date now, I'll be back at 8 Betty your pay check is on the counter, there's extra for staying overtime"

"thanks Jughead" I heard the pair of them shout
"abi, don't I get a hug goodbye?" And with that she scrambled down the stairs and flung herself into my arms

Time skip 3 hours
I got back in so frustrated, this girl literally just wanted me for sex and couldn't face the fact that Abi will come before me I hated women like that, I got back inside and closed the door quietly fighting the urge to slam it in frustration I walked upstairs into Abis room only to find her room completely spotless, her tucked up in bed and Betty passed out of the floor clutching the last Barbie doll I chuckled
"you deserve everything Betty" I whispered before scooping her up and walking to my room and placing her down in my bed, tucking her in and slipping in next to her
god this is so bad, I'm liking my baby's nanny
I woke up around 3am to Betty with her back towards me and crying
"hey, Betty? What's wrong?" I whispered in a raspy voice
"n-nothing I'm gonna head h-home now" she started to get out I grabbed her wrist
"Oh no your not, it's way to dark for you to drive okay? Just stay with us for the night i don't want you driving back in this condition okay?" I stroked her thumb
"o-okay, thank you" she gave in a wrapped herself back up in the duvet
"why were you crying Betty?" I asked gently
"nothing, don't worry I'm okay" she sniffed
"no your not, I know I literally met you what? 12 hours ago, but you can trust me, you can talk to me I promise" I rubbed her back with my hand
"it's just, I c-can't come to terms with that fact I can't have kids Jughead, I can't do it, and I don't know why I put myself through this pain of working with children 24/7 when I can't even have my own" she sobbed I pulled her into my embrace
"there are so many ways you can have children Betty, so many ways and hey, I've got an aunt who was told she'd never ever have kids, she has 4 kids Betty, 4 that could be you if you want that many-" I heard her giggle
"so please don't hurt your feelings by doing this, I totally understand if you don't want this job I totally do"
"no, I want this job, in fact, don't tell my agency this but Abi is probably the sweetest kid I've ever worked with, she's so lovely I can't bare to leave her I might just take her" she giggled again
"take her, in all seriousness, I mean not actually like "abduct" her but if you wanna take her out for the day or do something with her feel free, I don't mind at all, she's so bored in this house, she has no siblings no mom, she's very very fond of you Betty, so if being with her will fill that gap in you by all means, if it makes you happy, it makes me happy" I smiled at her
"really? You mean that"
"Of course I do, I of course"
"thank you so much Jughead" she wrapped her small arms around my neck and quietly squealed happily
"now come on sleep, your tired okay?"
And with that she was asleep with a huge smile on her face
