I put Betty to sleep and waited for her to fall asleep soundly and walked downstairs to find my dad with his head in his hands
"dad? you good there?" he shook his head no
"why what's up?" I said down next to him
"it's Betty jug, god her dads a psycho he's abused her to within an inch of her life, I can't let her go back to him, we've got to keep her here and safe" he sighed
"And we will dad okay, me and the serpents will look after her, i promise you, we won't let her get hurt anymore" I smiled, patting his shoulder
"I think she's awake" he motioned to the bottom of the stairs and Betty was stood there timidly playing with her fingers
"I'll leave you two to it" he chuckled and left the house, I started to walk towards her
"hey your up, I wasn't expecting you to be up so soon" I smiled
"I-I can go b-ack" she whispered softly
"no no, unless you want to I just wasn't sure when you'd wake up" I laughed, her eyes brightened, it was a beautiful sight
"ohh I wasn't too tired I just wanted some rest" she smiled
that smile was gorgeous
"Ah that's good, I didn't know what to do and i thought that your dads phone call may have worried you" I scratched the back of my neck
bpov:
the moment he said 'dad' I started to cry
"god Betty sorry, I didn't mean to say that, come here" he enveloped me with another hug, I didn't flinch, I didn't wince, I melted into it and hugged him back
"your a hugger?" he chuckled
"they make me feel safe" I snuggled up closer to his chest the vibrations of his laugh made me melt even more
"you make me feel safe" I whispered gently
"What was that?
"nothing, don't worry"
"you comfy?, do you wanna sit on the couch?" He whispered after a while
"yes please" he picked me up and sat me down on his lap on the couch
"movie?" i hummed in response
"do you have Breakfast Club?" I asked timidly
"duh, who doesn't have it, I'll stick it on, let me get up" I clung onto him
"Betts, you need to let go, I'm gonna put the film on" he chuckled i whined and didn't let go, he smiled at my actions and picked us both up of the couch and walked over to the DVD player, putting the film on and settling us back down on the couch

Betty didn't know I had heard her say
"you make me feel safe"
I blushed bright red, I'm glad I made her feel safe it made me feel warm inside, she wouldn't let go of me when I was putting on a film, after a while, I heard her yawn
"you tired" she yawned again it was 11pm she hadn't been up for to long but she was exhausted
"mmm" she mumbled
"bed?"
"yes please" I said nothing but picked her up and carried her upstairs, pushing the spare bedroom door open and laying her down,
"j-jug? can you s-stay with m-me?" She asked quietly
"are you sure Betts?" I didn't want to step over the line with her
"yeah, please" she begged
"of course I will Betts, let me grab some pyjamas then I'll be back in okay?" I walked out with a huge smile on my face
"hey I'm back" I said, but immediately quietened down as I noticed she had fallen asleep, quiet snores falling out of her mouth, a golden lock of hair had fallen in front of her face, I brushed it out of her way and got in behind her so I was spooning her, I pulled her closer to me breathing in her flowery scent I was sleeping peacefully until her phone was vibrating from her messages
poll: hey Betts where are you? Are you still at Jughead's? xx
poll: Betty?
poll: Elizabeth Cooper if you don't answer me I'm suing you :)
Betty: hey Polly, it's Jughead, Betty and I are sleeping, she's a bit stressed with everything atm, I'm sure she'll explain later, I won't say anything I shouldn't, I'll bring her home soon! x
poll: oh hi Jughead, yeah sure, just look after her okay?
Betty: yeah ofc I will
I put the phone down and swung my hand back around Betty's stomach
"your warm" she smiled into my chest as she rolled back into my chest
"Am I know" I smiled
"juggie? I'm sorry about earlier" she sighed
"what happened earlier" I asked, fiddling with her hair
"you kissed me Jug, I didn't kiss you back but I wanted to, I like you Jughead" she said shyly
"mhm, I didn't mean to kiss you, I probably stepped I've the line, but I do like you Betts" I smiled warmly at her
"you do?"
"mhm" I leaned back in a softly kissed her lips and she kissed me back, our lips moved in sync my hands were on her face and her hands were on the back of my neck playing with the hair on the nape of my neck
"your lips are soft Betts" I whispered after pulling away from her lips
"mhm, I use chapstick Jughead, you should try it" she giggled
"oh so you have a rude side Miss Cooper?" I smiled
"Maybe"
we both leaned in and kissed again
