I was finally seeing my mom again, after my dad had died. I left when I was around seven years old and I've kept in contact with her but never seen her since I guess you could say I was nervous.
I sat in the airport with my new friend Kevin Keller, who was going to Riverdale as well to his dad after staying with his mom all the way in Barbados
"nervous?" he noticed my leg bouncing up and down
"a bit yeah, the last time I saw her I was so young I don't think I can remember what she looks like" I giggled nervously
"well it will all be okay, I'm right here with you Betty, plus if it all goes wrong you can always stay with me and my dad" he stroked my hand and we sat there in silence until they were calling our flight in.
We boarded the plane and I was even more nervous than ever
"Betty, chill out it's all gonna be okay I'm going to be right here next to you" he leaned over after the plane had taken off and I'd dozed off into space
"I know Kev I'm just nervous that's all, what if she decides she doesn't like me and wants me to go back" I snapped back to reality
"she's your mom, she's going to love you no matter what, now get some beauty sleep, we have a long flight a head of us" he pulled his sleep mask down and drifted off to sleep, i tried to do the same but I just couldn't.
Eventually the planes landed and I woke Kevin up
"Kev we're here, we just landed in Riverdale" I gently shook him awake
"thank fuck I was starting to get bored of sleeping" he chuckled and dragged me off the plane and right through the airport onto Riverdale road
"Take a deep breath, it's all gonna be okay I promise" Kev took my hand and helped me walk towards the town where people were standing with signs of loved ones waiting to pick them up, I scanned the crowd to try to find my mom and I did, she was surrounded by a leather clad group with snake sewn into the backs of it
"Is that her?" Kevin dropped my hand and pointed to a blonde haired woman with a pink sweater and had her back to us
"I think that is my mom" I stuttered, I walked closer with shaky steps, I walked up to her but before I could tap her on the back a beanie wearing boy made rather seductive eye contact with me, he smirked and looked down, I smiled lightly at him and reached out to tap my moms back
"mom?" I stammered, she spun a round on her heels and her smile dropped
"Betty darling, is that you?" she threw her hand over her mouth and pulled me into a hug, it lasted for a good fiver minutes before the boy I held eye contact with cleared his throat
"oh right, everyone i'd like you to meet my daughter, Betty, Betty meet everyone Jughead, FP, Toni, Cheryl I'll do the rest of the names later" she laughed before showing me round to everyone.
"so, Alice Cooper's daughter huh" Jughead sat down in the kitchen after I'd escaped the 'welcome home' party
"ha, guess my title is already known then" I giggled
"I guess you could say that, Hal Coopers daughter then, your mom definitely expresses her hatred towards him" he chuckled
"my dad isn't exactly a big fan either"
I got to know Jughead better that night, he'd recently been crowned king of the serpents taking over his dads role, he had a dog called HotDog, a sister called Jelly Bean who is mom ran off with when he was a little boy, his dad was a recovered alcoholic who had worked at Pops and was now the sheriff he knew my dad had died, that my sister had two twins called Juniper and Dagwood and that I'd been desperate to see my mom since forever
"so I'll guess I'll be seeing you around more often then Coops" he kissed my hair and began to walk out of the house
"jug, do you wanna, stay I mean it's late out and you've been drinking i don't want you getting into an accident" I stuttered grabbing his hand slightly
"worried about me" he smirked pulling me close
"maybe" I laughed and led him upstairs and let him hold me all night
