It had been a few years after the whole people-eating clown thing, none of the remaining losers liked to talk about it.

Y/n was upstairs in her room bored, watching some random show that was playing on the tv

Hearing a car honk outside she turned the tv off and ran downstairs not having to look to know who it was.

She exited the house seeing the familiar car

"Hey pretty lady" Stan smiled towards her

Y/n laughed leaning against the car door

"Wattcha need nerd?" she teased

"Can't I visit my lovely girlfriend just to see her face?" Stan said with a dazed smile

"Of course, who wouldn't want to see this face?" Y/n said turning her head side to side as if absorbing admiration

Stan rolled his eyes at her statement, but still smiled at her

"Would you like to go to the diner with me?" Stan asked

"I don't know I was watching this killer show before you pulled up" Y/n lied, teasing him

"Please it's 11:30 on a Wednesday, I know there's nothing you watch on right now." Stan stated as if it were common knowledge, looking down at the watch on his wrist.

Y/n scoffed, slightly surprised by how much Stan knew her

"So the diner?" He questioned unlocking his car door

"I'm not really that hungry-" Y/n started

"I'll pay" Stan responded

"Well when you put it that way!" Y/n chimed, climbing in the passenger seat of Stans car

When they arrived at the diner they found an empty table quickly, seeing as the restaurant only had a few people inside.

Both of them looked through the menus that were handed to them, silently

"I'm gonna get the waffles" Y/n said sitting her menu down

Stan looked at her like she had two heads

"Waffles are just pancakes with abs" he scoffed looking back at his menu

"Yeah but the 'pancake abs' make good syrup pockets" she remarked, using air quotations

Stan went to respond, but the waitress had walked over ready to take their orders.

After they both ordered they sat at their booth chit chatting, sipping on milkshakes they had ordered before.

"I'm just saying if you do something stupid I have options" Y/n exclaimed

"Yeah like who?" Stan asked

"Well for starters, Bill-"

"Oh go for my best friend real low Y/n"

"Wel—I'm not your best friend?" Y/n cut herself off

"You don't count" Stan spoke

"Why not?"

"Your my girlfriend"

"Well I'm sure Richie wouldn't mind being my new best friend"

"Oh please"

"Who else would it be"

"I don't know pick someone less.....trashmouth"

"Y'know I kinda like the thought of being best friends with Richie" Y/n teased knowing she was getting under his skin "he was actually second on the Stan-dose-something-stupid list"

Stan groaned laying his head on the table.

Soon their food arrived, Y/n slathered syrup on her waffles filling up the 'pancake abs'

"I don't know how you eat those" Stan said grimacing at her plate

"They're literally the same" she spoke eating her waffles

"Are not, how dare you compare waffles to pancakes!" he said offended

Y/n rolled her eyes, eating her food

After they finished eating, Stan paid like he promised and they were headed back towards Y/n's house

"Thanks for taking me to the diner" she muttered towards him

"It was either that or letting you watch some boring movie over and over" Stan glanced at her grinning

"Oh shut up"

"It's the truth"

"Doesn't mean you say it" Y/n giggled

They pulled into her driveway neither of them wanting to leave just yet not wanting to leave the feeling behind.

They had felt like kids today I mean they were still young, but they felt like they we're just falling in love like they had all those years ago in the dreadful summer of 1989

They both looked at each other just gazing taking in the feeling as if it would never return.

They started to lean in kissing each other, not having to say a word to express what they felt or to understand what the other felt.

Pulling away they smiled at each other, Y/n giggled

"Do you wanna come inside and watch some boring show with me?" She said mimicking what he had said earlier

"Actually it's about 1:00 so that one show you watch is about to come on" Stan smiled at her looking at his watch

Y/n rolled her eyes dragging him by his hand inside the house.
