25 December 2016

Waking up that Christmas morning, Henry looked down at his wife, who was cuddling into his side, and kissed the top of her head. He stared at the ceiling for a while as he took a deep breath, thinking how bizarre his life has gotten these past 8 months has been a roller-coaster ride, as both an actor and a member of the Royal Family.

After staying a few nights and walking through a very historic site, Henry felt very blessed living the life he lives now.

Next to him, his wife Tori started to stir before opening her eyes slowly and letting out a small yawn. She looked up at her husband before smiling slightly.

"Good morning handsome," Tori whispered before cuddling more into his side.

"Good morning," Henry replied. "Merry Christmas."

"Hm, Merry Christmas," Tori smiled, closing her eyes once more. "We should probably get up and get ready for the service."

Henry looked down at Tori, still with her eyes closed. He raised his brows before nodding and said, "Yes, we really should."

They stayed in the same position for five more minutes before Tori finally opened her eyes and stretched.

"We really do need to get up and get ready for breakfast and the service," Tori smiled up at Henry before kissing him lightly.

Once the married pair finished getting ready, they joined the rest of the family at the dining room for breakfast.

"Good morning," Tori greeted her grandmother first who was seated at the head of the table with kisses and a curtsy. Henry followed behind her with a bow and kisses.

"Good morning dears," Queen Elizabeth smiled up at them from her seat. "Excited for the service? I'm not sure that I will be joining you this morning, it seems that I have caught a cold."

"As I always do, Granny. Oh dear, I hope you get plenty of rest then Granny," Tori smiled before she and her husband take their leave to eat breakfast before their walk to the chapel.

Breakfast was a short affair, with the ones attending Christmas Service eating sleepily, eyes still half closed. Many were dressed to impress but the air was still thick with sleep.

Once breakfast was digested, Tori and Henry put on their coats and gloves before joining the others at the foyer, ready for their trek to the Church.

Henry and Tori walked behind her father with Autumn, her cousin Peter's wife, and young Savannah, their daughter, on the other side of Tori. Harry walking slightly behind Tori with Eugenie on his side.

As they reach the gates that separates the rest of the small town and Sandringham Estate, they could hear the cheers of the well-wishers who have waited since early morning just to get a glimpse of the royals. Some have watched the younger royals grow into the adults they are today.

Tori and Henry smiled and gave them a small wave as they continued their walk towards the church.

As they arrived at St Mary's Magdalene Church, they were received by the Archbishop before going out of sight and into the church.

Sitting in front row, it was Philip next to Charles, Camilla and Harry before it was Tori and Henry. Throughout the service, Tori and Henry held hands and tried to keep themselves awake during the service.

An hour and a half later, the group of Royals exit the warm Church and back into the public eye for the walk back to Sandringham Estate.

They gathered at the stairs to wait for Philip to depart first before walking back to the estate.

Once Philip was safe in his car, Tori and Henry make their way down the sea of people waiting to see them.

"Merry Christmas," Tori and Henry wished the well-wishers as they were given flowers and some gifts.

By the end of the line, Tori's arms were full of flowers and gifts.

The rest of the day went as much as Christmas Day goes at Sandringham. They changed into more comfortable clothes before sitting around the drawing room to watch The Queen's Christmas speech.

To Henry, though some parts of his Christmas experience seemed surreal, it was still warm and homey. Sure there were some pomp and service, other times were spent joking around and taking walks with around the estate with The Queen or Prince Philip.

It reminded Henry that while they may be the most famous family in the world, they are still human with their love and care for one another. A bond that Henry only wish to be included with open arms.
