12 June 2016

"You'll be fine Hen," Tori brushed off invisible dust on Henry's suit. He's wearing a black suit with pink tie to match Tori's dress, which is a short sleeved buttoned pink dress that is suitable for the summer day. Though it rained slightly, it was still quite humid and hot.

"I know, just the first time I'll be meeting people and not signing autographs or take selfies, you know?" Henry said nervously, playing with his sleeves.

"Just think of it as one of the premieres you went to, not for one of your movies, but to support one of your friends," Tori smiled encouragingly to Henry, who smiled back in return. "Now come, everyone is waiting for us"

Today is the day right after Trooping the Colour and the day that Henry will take part in the activities of The Patron's Lunch. A picnic along the Mall for all patronages and charities that the Queen supports.

With thousands of people attending this luncheon, Henry felt the pressure of being a part of the Royal Family. He felt like he needed to be on his best behaviour and make sure that nothing goes wrong, especially on his side of things.

Will, Kate, Harry, Anne, Edward, Sophie and Louise decided to use a car and ride towards the middle to start there, while Tori and Henry, together with Andrew, Beatrice and Eugenie decided it would be better to walk from Buckingham gates and walk down the road, towards the stage so that they have the change to meet everybody this way.

The senior members of the royal family decided that they should come out earlier to meet everyone before the Queen arrives before the rest of the family joins them for the show. This gives them enough time to socialise and meet representatives of charities that The Queen holds near and dear to her heart.

Hand in hand, Tori and Henry walked out of the palace gates with big smiles on their faces. Their assistant private secretaries, David and Julie, following closely behind them. David will be accompanying Henry while Julie will be with Tori. Surrounding them were their team of protection officers, making sure that no danger comes their way.

As they make their way to the barricades, Tori and Henry decided that they each should take a side before switching somewhere in between. They agreed this way, they get to maximise the number of people they meet and are happy with that.

With Andrew, Beatrice and Eugenie not far behind them, Tori put a big smile on her face and began shaking hands.

"Hello, thank you for coming out today," Tori said as she shook a few hands and greeted the people closest to Buckingham Palace.

On the other side, Henry smiled and shook hands with everyone he can see. He usually stops for a few minutes to talk to the people.

"Good afternoon, I hope you're all doing well," Henry said as he meets some representatives from the Queen's charities.

He was able to meet a lot of people that day and when they reached the middle of the sea of people, they met with Peter Phillips, who organised this whole event.

"Peter! Such a great turn out!" Tori hugged her cousin as she praised him for the amount of people that came.

"Thank you, thank you," Peter hugged Tori back before stepping away. "Hurry to the front, Granny's coming soon."

With that, they said their goodbyes before moving down the line and meet more people.

It was a day filled with laughter, smiles and lots of food and entertainment.

"You did so well today," Tori smiled up at Henry as they make their way back to Clarence House that evening. "I'm so proud of you."

"That was a very different experience than a red carpet," Henry laughed. "Lot's of sirs and your royal highnesses."

"You do know you are a Your Royal Highness now, don't you?" Tori asked.

"Still doesn't make it more surreal than it is," Henry said looking down at Tori.

"How about I make it up to you?" Tori looked up over her lashes at Henry.

"I like the sound of that," Henry smirked before picking up Tori and head over to their bedroom for a long night.
