Alexis POV

A hardly recognizable muffle has pulled me out of my slumber. "Shut it, you are being too loud!" A familiar voice has whispered, causing me to shuffle in my bed.

"Wha- don't you dare!" someone hissed. "You were the one who was late!" they resorted.

Groaning loudly I scoffed, "Shut up, I'm trying to s-sleep!"

"Great, now she's awake," said a voice similar to Sammy's.

"Whatever!" Daisy exclaimed, and within a second, I felt her jump onto my torso, causing me to straighten up in confusion. "Happy birthday little bean!" She screamed excitedly as I got pulled into a hug.

Oh... Right! "Holy s-s-shit it's my birthday!" I repeated the obvious as if not entirely believing it myself.

"Happy birthday!" Mason and Sam have yelled in unison before jumping onto my bed.

I couldn't help but giggle from getting tackled by my three best friends. We were goofing around for a while, at least until a worker began banging onto my door telling us to calm down.

"Still can't believe you are the oldest, this is weird," Sam pointed out as we laid on my bed.

I laughed at his comment, "Daisy's birthday is l-l-literally next month!"

"True," Mason added with a soft giggle. "Our crazy-ass Aries." It was nice to see him so carefree, today was going to be good.

Daisy whined out, but instead of arguing she snapped out of bed. "Come on guys, we should head to school, it's fridaaaaay!" she dragged the 'a' and threw her hands into the air. "After that party at my place!" she grinned, but my stomach dropped at the word.

"Don't worry Lexi, it's just us," Mason quickly reassured, noticing my discomfort.

Shaking my head to the side I sighed. "Nothing b-b-better than being traumatized by t-the word party at t-t-the age of nineteen," I chuckled bittersweetly.

"That's the spirit," Daisy added not exactly picking up on my seriousness, but I didn't blame her - She seemed very excited for today.

"Idiot," Sammy hissed and slapped the back of Daisy's arm, which has quickly led into one of their famous banters. Honestly, there was nothing more sibling-like than them having those pointless arguments.

"No matter how much I watch them do this, it never fails to entertain," Mason said with a cheeky smile.

I couldn't help but agree. You could call me crazy, but this moment felt just perfect. Almost like the old times, when Daisy still lived at the institution, and our lives didn't get involved in anything else than our inner circle.

After quite an eventful morning, the three of us left for school, with a plan on going to Daisy's after. Apparently, Jenny insisted on having us over, Daisy mentioned something about her going crazy with the cake preparations, which I found endearing. I was glad that she found such nice people to take her in, especially after my potential family has withdrawn from their offer without any specific information.

"Happy birthday!" Isabel threw herself onto my back surprising me with her straightforwardness.

"Thank you..." I said flustered, not used to getting this much attention.

"Aww! You're so cute," she teased, but quickly turned her attention towards Daisy who approached us after closing her locker. "Hey..." she greeted less confidently, with cheeks turning a soft shade of pink.

"Hmm?" Daisy hummed, observing me firstly before switching her attention towards the blonde. "Hey," she said nonchalantly, not realizing the effect she had on the other girl.
