Alexis POV
Abruptly waking up from under my duvet, the cold sweat covered my entire body, soaking into my bedsheets.
I was shivering from the cold. My throat felt clogged and I found myself gasping for the air. I attempted to compose myself, before slowly getting up from the bed, and walking up to the window, gawking at the beautiful full moon accompanied by puffy clouds.
I reached between the metal bars and slightly opened the window, desperately wanting to get some air. It was breezy and sharp, which worked wonders for my tightened throat. I took a deep breath in and out, three or four times before feeling my body finally relax.
"God, why does it, h-h-have to be so d-difficult..." I spoke towards a beautiful moon that dressed in a yellow blanket. I felt the connection with the spiritual world, staring into the night sky.
Inspired, I swiftly took out my little notebook from under my pillow and wrote a couple of short poems. After writing for some time I was pleased with only one.
Thinking about Vanessa's bright grey eyes, which every time I looked at seemed to take over my mind, I sighed.
Freezing I went to take a quick shower and changed my sheets, before returning to bed.
Unfortunately, ever since Daisy's absence, I found myself experiencing nightmares at least a couple of times a week. Always those particularly horrific ones from my childhood I so wanted to forget, but they lingered to me like a parasite.
I snuggled my face into the pillow and attempted to fall asleep. After a couple of hours, I finally managed my mind to take off, into the land of wonder.
Today was Wednesday, and I was looking forward to hearing more information regarding the potential start of the job, which Vanessa mentioned to be tomorrow.
We were currently sitting at our usual spot in the cafeteria, meaning as far as possible from everyone else. We sure weren't social butterflies.
I puffed my cheeks, not entirely pleased with the food in front of me. Not wanting to be picky or disrespectful, but this slice of pizza looked rather horrifying and I was hesitant to try it.
"I can get you a salad," Daisy offered, giving me a sympathetic look.
I shook my head not wanting to be a burden and inhaled deeply before taking a bite. It wasn't the worst, it tasted like a thick bread with melted cheese. I suppose you couldn't exactly gp wrong with that, but it surely had nothing to do with pizza.
"Atta girl," Sam snickered shutting up immediately after trying his own slice.
While my taste buds were slowly dying, I recalled something important. "Isabel is inviting us f-for a game this Friday." I nudged Daisy, smirking to Sam with knowing eyes, "Especially y-you."
"What is that supposed to mean?" she scoffed, noticing our exchange.
Sam choked on his pizza and cleared his throat, "Nothing at all... but we should go and support her, no?"
Daisy scrunched her nose. "I guess... not like she needs it though... she's the best," she huffed confidently.
Aw, so adorable, already supporting her future girlfriend. Yes, Sammy, Mason, and I were secretly shipping. Half-jokingly, half-seriously, I couldn't exactly see it happen, but I think Isabel really suited our Daisy.
"Perfect," Sam clasped his hands. "Hopefully, I can pick on some nice girls."
Really Sam?
Daisy laughed throatily at our silly blond friend. "You would, if you actually played in the game, but good luck," she remarked mischievously.
