Golden rays of sunset burst through the atmosphere, painting the sky in shades of deep yellow and bubbly orange, making the water in the pool glisten and shine. Two tall glasses of fizzing champagne stood proudly on a silver tray, next to it a huge bucket of ice and a bottle of the same alcohol, already opened. The sound of laughter from his daughters brought Freddie back to his senses from the paradise he had previously been exploring in his mind. This vacation was just what they needed.

The familiar smell of his husband lingered on Freddie's nose as he snuggled deeper, resting the back of his neck on the strong arm that wrapped itself around his shoulders. Freddie looked on, watching his daughters in their swimwear, diving into the shallow, sparkling water. He couldn't help but chuckle as he watched his youngest try to paddle with the huge armbands she had to wear. She rather reminded him of a little teddy bear, and that made him want to cuddle her all the more.

"You're relaxed." Jim commented, smiling when Freddie turned his head and planted a kiss on his shoulder. "I have a feeling that you needed this holiday."

"You're too damn right, things have been hectic at home. Turkey is the perfect country to be in right now. The girls look happy." Both men felt a grin come to their faces as they watched the two girls. Seven year old Sophia at the top of the slide, waiting to go down into the pool, and two year old Emilia cutely struggling to sit up after going down said slide.

Emilia got frustrated and whimpered, arms flailing, and looked at Freddie. Freddie, chuckling, got up and went over to Emi. He held her waist and eventually she got up and waddled off back to the stairs that led to the slide. "I love her little walk, it's so cute." Freddie commented. Emi hadn't learnt how to bend her knees and put one foot infront of the other yet, so she just hopped from foot to foot with her hips doing the work. It was adorable.

Freddie sat back down and took a sip of his glass of champagne, passing Jim's glass to him per request. The two men looked at each other and their cheeks heated up. "We've been together for nearly nine years and you still make me blush like a silly schoolgirl." Freddie laughed, hiding his face. Jim took hold of Freddie's hand and pulled it down gently, away from his face, and leaned in. Their lips collided and moved in sync, Freddie's hands going up to the back of Jim's neck.

They only stopped when they heard yet another whimper from Emi. She had somehow pulled out the stopper from one of her armbands, and all the air had come out, so it was flat, hanging on her arm. Jim blew it back up for her, only for her to decide that she didn't want to go in the pool anymore, and being wrapped in a warm towel on daddy's chest sounded very nice, thank you very much. So she did that, and was soon falling asleep in Freddie's arms.

"Sophie honey, we're going back inside now, it's getting dark." Jim called, and Sophia hopped out of the pool, following her fathers. Freddie carried Emi, kissing her head every so often, smiling as he felt her breath on his shoulder. He loved his little baby so much. "Never get older." He whispered, and he was sure he felt Emi smile against his skin.

Jim changed Emi from her swimming costume to her pyjamas while she slept. He tucked her up under the thick, fluffy covers and kissed her goodnight, flicking the bedside lamp on. The three remaining people still awake decided to order a takeaway for dinner, because it was a holiday and Jim shouldn't have to cook.

They ordered Chinese, and ate it on the table that had a long leather seat all across it. They finished the night by watching a movie of Sophie's choice, where she fell asleep halfway through it and Freddie put on something a little more appealing to grown men than a barbie movie. They finished on that note, and soon all of the family was snuggled under comfortable blankets, snoozing away.
