"Where's Freddie?" Jim asked as he wandered through the house, Sophie on his hip. He'd looked all over for the Persian. Phoebe looked up from his newspaper and directed him to the kitchen. Jim was puzzled but thanked Phoebe. Fair enough, the kitchen would have been the last place Jim would look - Freddie couldn't cook to save his life.

He opened the heavy kitchen door and found Joe and Freddie having an idle conversation, Freddie with a steaming cup of Earl Grey in his hands. Joe had his back turned, as he was cooking, but he still happily talked away.

Freddie turned when he heard the door open, and smiled when he saw his husband and daughter. He hopped off the stool, breathing out painfully as he cupped his stomach that carried their second baby, and gave Sophie some cuddles. He couldn't pick her up unfortunately, but she was content with cuddling him around the waist, putting kisses on his tummy. He cooed and stroked her hair, getting a kiss on the lips from Jim.

"What're you doin' in here?" Jim asked, wrapping an arm around Freddie's shoulders. He could tell the singer was uncomfortable but didn't want to break it to their daughter, who looked more than happy to stand there for another week.

"Darling Joey is making me some lunch." Freddie smiled, and Joe hummed to concur. Jim gently gestured Sophia to let go of Freddie so he could sit back down, and he caught Freddie's eyes, which expressed a gentle thank you. Freddie sat back down, wincing quietly, but Jim heard. He stood behind Freddie, hands on his shoulders, rubbing back and forth. Freddie hummed and smiled up at Jim. Jim smiled back and kissed his neck. Sophia sat next to Freddie and got her drawing book off of the counter, also grabbing the crayons and happily coloured away.

Freddie looked on, smiling at his baby. She returned his smile once they met eyes, and returned to drawing. Joe eventually passed through the double doors that separated the stools at the counter and the actual kitchen. There was a big gap in the wall in which you could communicate from one side of the counter to another. He held in his hand a plate; bestowed upon it was a white-bread sandwich, cut into two triangles, and some fluffy, thick chips. Freddie thanked Joe with a smile, and took a bite of one half of the sandwich, moaning happily.

Jim peered at the sandwich, and saw a whole rainbow of colours. He could make out ham and carrot in there (disgusting) but he couldn't figure out anything else. He nicely asked Freddie what was in his sandwich, and Freddie, nonchalant as ever, replied,

"Ham, red pepper, carrot, lettuce, courgette, blue cheese and strawberries."

Jim met Joe's eyes, and the chef himself looked green as he glanced at the sandwich. Jim's face contorted with displeasure, but Freddie looked more than happy with his sandwich and chips, munching on it with a smile as he looked over Sophie with adoring eyes. Jim decided to leave him be.
