A Different Beginning ~ Part 17 ~ Updated: 1/2/15 Late evening 

Curled up in Victor’s arms I shook my head no and I heard a gasp from Nathan. “Okay Sang. Kota is going to get you a little something from the kitchen.” I shot up sitting straight in Victor’s lap shaking my head. 

“No please…” I rushed out and Kota’s green eyes widened by my reaction. “Please don’t bother your mother…” I swallowed shaking hard. 

“Arms and lap.” Kota’s eyes settled on mine and I nodded Victor’s hands dropping away as I was pulled into Kota’s lap. “You wouldn’t be bothering. You haven’t eaten in a while and I think we are all worried at this point. You are covered in bruises Sang and although you act like nothing is wrong when other’s are around when you drop your guard you always look like you are about to fall over.” 

I looked over to Nathan and Victor who nodded in agreement. Biting my lip I continued to shake my head looking into Kota’s eyes begging. “Please… Please…” I was so tired that my eyes started to tear up even though I didn’t feel like crying. 

Kota’s eyes instantly widened and he nodded giving in. “Okay Sang. It’s okay. Hands.” He slipped his hands around me and pulled me into a soft hug before helping me curl up and rest against him. Slowly I closed my eyes feeling better that he wouldn’t move. 

“Hey Sang…” I turned to the baritone voice of Victor and he held out a phone. “I heard you needed one.” Surprised I slowly reached out and took the phone. It was the newest Iphone. Stunned I touched the pink phone and turned it over in my hand. 

“But-“ I looked stunned. 

“Nah! Ah!” Victor stopped me. “Say thank you..” 

I blushed and held the phone carefully in my hand. “Thank you Victor.” I whispered and slowly flicked the phone on. Kota pointed out the different apps and showed me how to text and call. I smiled sending out a message. 

Sang: Hi

It only took a few seconds for me to get a response. 

Luke: Look at this fancy girl! Got her self a phone and can text now! 

North: Shut up Luke! Hey baby girl. How are you feeling? 

Gabriel: Hey Trouble are you staying out of trouble? 

Mr. Blackbourne: Hello Ms. Sorenson 

Dr. Green: Pookie! 

I giggled at all of the messages and I noticed the other three smile as well. I quickly typed back. 

Sang: I am okay North. I am waiting for lunch with Kota, Victor and Nathan. I think I am staying out of trouble. 

“Sang! Victor! Nathan! Kota! Time to eat!” Erica called from the kitchen and carefully Kota stood from the couch and placed me on my feet slowly. I whined a little as I stood up fully. 

Victor paused at my side. “After you eat you can take the medicine. Promise.” 

I smiled and covered my stomach nodding. Together we made our way down the hall and to the kitchen where we sat at a large wood table off of the kitchen. The little girl from yesterday already sat there. Surprised I smiled, having put my guard back up. 

“Hi.” I sat down next to her moving very slowly ignoring the pain. 

“Hi I’m Jessica.” She smiled back and I relaxed a little.
