A Different Beginning ~ Part 44 ~ Updated: 1/29/15 Late evening
I shook scared and my legs nearly buckled but Victor quickly tore me out of his father’s grip quickly. “Don’t you dare touch her!” He yelled sending shivers down my spine. I stood behind Victor my hands lightly resting on his back unsure if I heard correctly. Had his father really just say that? I shook hard and Victor glanced back at me looking nervous. His mother moved out of the room as if not hearing what his father had said. I inhaled quickly smelling irish spring soap and I quickly leaned forward as I breathed in the rest of the boy’s scents twisting together in the air.
“Here they come.” I whispered noticing Victor becoming a little less tense as Mr. Blackbourne stepped through the door.
“Mr. Morgan we were not expecting you home so soon.” Mr. Blackbourne stepped in front of Victor shielding us hands wrapped around my waist and I turned. Silas stood behind me and he quickly guided me out of the room. I turned back nervously looking for Victor but Silas propelled me forward.
Once we were out of the room, Silas lifted me up carrying me to the large kitchen. Kota wasn’t in the kitchen but everyone else was standing. North rushed over touching my back and carefully taking me from Silas’s arms. I curled into his chest shaking very scared. “Sang Baby.” North’s voice was soft as he held me and Dr. Green moved over.
“Pookie were you hurt?” He asked softly and I quickly shook my head, not physically. North tightened his grip around my sides and he then carefully rocked me.
“Doc let’s head out to eat.” Nathan suggested. The other’s nodded in agreement. I glanced to the doorway and bit my lip.
“Victor…” I shook hard and North rushed to set me on the table lightly. My eyes blurred and tears quickly slipped down my cheeks as I tried to comprehend what was happening. Gabriel swore stepping forward holding my hand.
“He is coming as well. His son of a bitch of a father is not holding him here.” Gabriel hugged me close. At that moment Victor and Mr. Blackbourne stepped through the door and Victor met my eyes. In a second he rushed over slipping his hands around me and holding me close.
“I am so sorry Sang! I am so sorry.” He held me tightly to him and I held tight to him as well. My body shook hard and I slowly pulled back placing a soft kiss on his forehead.
“I am okay. Are you okay?” My eyes wondered his. He was pale and I lightly caressed his face watching him.
“Yes.” He responded and I lightly placed my forehead on his keeping him close. I didn’t believe him. Victor’s body language was tense and his color was off. I stayed close not commenting and waited for him to calm down slowly. A couple of moments later, Nathan and Kota placed a hand on Victor’s shoulder with a smile and Mr. Blackbourne shifted forward.
“I hear we are going out to eat.” He smiled lightly hugging me and I nodded.
“Let’s get into the car.” Luke offered. Victor slowly let go as I shifted onto my feet but I quickly slipped his hand into mine. I wasn’t letting go that easily. Shifting out of the house quietly, Victor and I hopped into North’s car with Silas and we were off to dinner.
