A Different Beginning ~ Part 39 ~ Updated: 1/24/15 Early evening

“Boys sit down right now.” Mr. Blackbourne’s hands were still in mine. “Sean is helping.” I struggled to hold still and Mr. Blackbourne’s hand rushed to my forehead checking me over, distracting from the pain every couple of moments. I let out a murmur of pain and Mr. Blackbourne stood. “Sean.” His voice was a warning and the pain suddenly increased and then stopped.

“Finished.” His voice was distant and I felt cold bandages and my shirt was slowly moved down and I closed my eyes. The mask increased the amount of oxygen to my mouth and blankets were moved slipping over me. Arms were being wrapped around me and I breathed in Mr. Blackbourne’s Irish soap scent as the curtain was pulled away I rested my head on his chest my entire bod shaking.

I hated this. My mother was ruining my life even without being here. I wanted to be able to move and hug and laugh with the boys. But instead I was only allowed to be in other’s arms, which was amazing since it was the boys, but I was my own person as well.

“Sang.” Gabriel’s voice was close drawing me out of my thoughts. They had taken all my strength and all I could do is breath and listen. Lifeless doll. Fantastic. “Doc what happened?” His voice was breaking.

“Her ribs had shifted. It was why she couldn’t breath in Bio. They were collapsing in on her.” Dr. Green’s voice explained and I shifted closer to Mr. Blackbourne whose lips met my forehead and his hands wrapped a bit more around me.

“Her fever has spiked.” He whispered and I felt a hand on the mask. My heart almost stopped and I rushed forward holding the mask to my face as tears slipped down my cheeks. Nathan’s eyes widened having only meant to shift it and he rushed to touch my cheeks pushing away tears.

“Peanut calm down. Calm down.” His voice was warm and but I just couldn’t right now. My body shook hard and Mr. Blackbourne’s arms slipped around me guiding me back to his chest my forehead against his neck.

“How much more time till the end of the day?” Mr. Blackbourne’s voice was stressed.

“We have about thirty minutes.” Gabriel responded.

“She needs to stay still.” Dr. Green warned. “She should be unconscious because of how much pain she has had today.”

Mr. Blackbourne’s hand found my hair and I shook lightly my hand clinging to his shirt and he held me. “I agree but she is right. The boys react the best around her and we have to cover some tough topics. She needs to be there for the meeting.”

I slowly sat up a little and Mr. Blackbourne’s head rushed to lean forward as I slipped the mask away. “I have some ideas.” I placed the mask back on and Mr. Blackbourne slipped his hand to my neck.

“You rest first. I will listen to everything then. But Sang you need to rest.” I slowly nodded knowing fully well that I was done moving for a while. I closed my eyes and felt Gabriel shift closer.

“Mr. B… you can’t stay… you have to get back to your office.” Gabriel ushered and Dr. Green shifted forward.
