A Different Beginning ~ Part 30 ~ Updated: 1/15/15 Late Evening

It was a half hour before Dr. Green stopped checking my chest and started applying a pressured bandage around my abdomen. Mr. Blackbourne hadn’t moved from my side and Luke’s arms loosened on mine. He rounded the bed and stayed in sight as well. I slowly looked over to Dr. Green exhausted and saw the pain on his face and my eyes widened as he stumbled.

“Owen.” I whispered and instantly Mr. Blackbourne was behind Sean as he tumbled. His hands wrapped around his chest and the doctor slowly gained his balance.

“I’m okay Owen.” But Mr. Blacbourne didn’t remove his hands guiding the other to my side. I carefully reached out and touched his hand. Dr. Green looked like he was about to breath.

“Sean come here.” I whispered and he slowly knelt his body shaking. I placed my hand on his cheek, just as Mr. Blackbourne had done for me while I screamed in pain and I caressed the other’s pale cheek. “It’s over.  I am okay.” He nodded and I felt him tremble again and I pulled him closer. “Sean.” I stated again and the strong face Dr. Green had been putting on just completely crumbled. I saw the pain and instantly pulled him into my arms holding him tight against me even if it hurt. His hands wrapped around me his body shaking hard.

“Sang.” He whispered and I felt a collection of tears hit my shoulder and I tightened my grip. “I thought… I had hoped you would let me take you to the hospital. I could have put you under. You wouldn’t have had…” My eyes widened and I tightened again.

“You had covered for me already to much.” I whispered and rubbed his back slowly. My chest moved in unison as I breathed in. “I have felt worse Sean.” I admitted again and pressed my forehead against his.

“You are such a strong and stupid girl.” He laughed and I laughed as well.

“Thank you Sean.” I smiled weakly and his hand found my neck and I breathed out a sigh as he took my pulse. He then slipped a hand to my forehead again.

“Your fever is back Pookie.” He whispered and I sighed nodding as I shivered a little at the touch of his warm hand.

“Would you allow Nathan to play doctor?” I smirked softly.

I got another loud laugh out of Dr. Green and he nodded. “Just this once Pookie. But I am not leaving your side for a while.” I nodded in approval and Dr. Green shifted out of my view.

Mr. Blackbourne slipped his hands under me and slowly helped me sit up. I cringed at the pain and leaned into his shoulder panting by the time I was sitting up straight. His hands wrapped around me and he leaned forward into a light hug. “Rest on me. Its okay Sang.” His voice was soft and I nodded leaning my head against his chest shaking. “You are really strong Sang.”

Weakly laughed and looked to him. “If I was strong enough I wouldn’t have been in this position.”

He shook his head. “You Ms. Sang Sorenson are stronger than any of us here. Now rest. The boys are going to come in and take care of you.” I laughed softly and nodded my head pounding.
