A Different Beginning ~ Part 27 ~ Updated: 1/12/15 Late Late Evening

The period ended to quickly and with a sigh I slipped off the cot and stood stretching having regained some of my composure. Dr. Green approached. “Hug.” Was all I heard and was quickly wrapped up in a warm tight hug against the other’s chest. “You come right here if you don’t feel good again okay?” I nodded and smiled touching his arms lightly with mine and giving them a squeeze.

“Of course.” I responded and he rested his forehead against mine and I started up at him a light blush painted on my face. “I am glad you were able to sleep Dr… Sean.” I smiled softly and gave him another hug before shifting to Mr. Blackbourne who held the door open for me.

“Ms. Sorenson.” His small smile slipping onto his face.

“Mr. Blackbourne. Thank you for grabbing Silas.” His eyes brightened and he nodded.

I shifted out of the nurses office and Silas held my hand as he guided me to my next class keeping other’s away from me at all times. We stopped outside the classroom and his eyes met mine. “You’ll come find me at lunch?” I smiled nodding and turned into my classroom.

“Sang?” A baritone voice caught my attention and Victor stepped forward. His eyes widened seeing my eyes and he instantly stepped forward.

“Hand.” He whispered and he touched my cheeks lightly looking at my eyes. “Sang why-“ Silas caught Victor’s shoulder and he shook his head.

“Not right now Vic.” His voice was lower than it had been with me as he stated the warning and his eyes glanced up. I followed his eyes to a older male in the hallway. My eyes widened as I recognized Mr. McCoy and I frozen shaken.

Victor caught my wrist and pulled me into the classroom and we took our seats at the back of the classroom. I kept my eyes down pulling out a notebook and planner as Mr. Morris started his lesson on World History. I could feel Victor’s eyes focused intently on my back but I didn’t turn around not wanting to get in trouble.

More homework and more notes later, we slipped out of class and moved down the hall to the cafeteria for lunch. I didn’t have much of an appetite after what had happened during Violin lessons but I kept quiet as Victor lead me down the hallways away from people and to a lunch table. Gabriel, Luke, and Nathan sat on one side and Kota and Silas sat on the other.

Kota’s eyes caught mine and he shifted. “What happened?”

“That is what I would like to know.” Victor responded and lead me to my seat between Kota and himself. I felt the others across the table look up and heard Gabriel swear.

“Fucking hell Sang your eyes.” He reached forward and touched my cheeks making my flinch.

“Gabe.” Silas warned and Gabriel’s eyes widened.

“God damn Trouble. You have been crying your eyes out.” Shock rushed across Luke and Nathan’s face quickly and I fidgeted looking down at my hands hidden under the table.

“Peanut…” Nathan’s voice was soft and I looked up at him nervously. “Is something wrong? Why were you crying?”

I couldn’t hide the pain in my eyes. I couldn’t answer. I didn’t want to cause the other’s more pain. I had suffered enough for all of them. Please I didn’t want to answer. Quickly I looked back down at my hands which I continued to play with under the table.

“Hand.” Kota whispered and his hands slipped into mine lightly squeezing them. “Sang you might feel better if you tell us.” I glanced at Silas who nodded his head lightly in agreement.

“Si? Do you know why little bird was crying like a rain storm?” Luke had caught my glance and I bit my lip hiding a small smile that I couldn’t hold back.

Silas looked to me and I nodded slowly giving him permission.

“Mr. Blackbourne called me right after the meeting. I had thought it had been to talk about the meeting we had been called in for but instead after he texted he sent me a distress signal.” I stared down at the table everyone had stopped eating to listen to Silas. “I rushed into the nurse’s office and Sang… Sang was on the ground shaking hard unable to breath. She wouldn’t let Mr. B or Doc close to her.” Kota’s hand tightened around mine and he lightly pulled me into a soft hug. “I didn’t know what to do to calm her down but she didn’t push me away when I approached so I hugged her close and called her name.”

“Fucking hell Trouble. What happened?” Gabriel’s eyes were large and set with anger. “Did someone hurt you?”

I bit my lip harder. “Princess.” I turned toward Victor his eyes on fire. “It’s okay to tell us.” I let out a short breath and shifted.

“You guys had been called to your meeting.” I started and looked Nathan who nodded.

“Yeah we were in AP Geometry.” He added and I looked down forcing a breath. I started to continue but Luke’s eyes were wide making me stop as he pieced it together.

“And North was attending a job so when the bell rang and we were still in the meeting you had to go to your next class.” I met Luke’s eyes and nodded agreeing with what he had said.

“Er fuck Luke I don’t understand.” Gabriel was having a hard time.

“Gabe what happens when you are walking to your classes?” Kota asked.

“Well people are fooling around and shoving others and what not. Some are laughing and such…” His eyes rushed over to mine. “Shoving…” It was clicking and I tightened my hold on Kota’s hand who squeezed back. “Fucking hell. Sang jumps at the slightest touch that isn’t stated and in the hallway people are always brushing by others.”

“I felt my mother’s hands on me.” I whispered shaking a little as I recalled it. "It was as if she was choking me again. She was beating me without even being there.” My voice broke.

“Hand.” Victor’s hand rushed out and held my other free hand and I breathed out slowly trying to contain myself.

“Oh Sang.” Luke whispered and I smiled weakly meeting their eyes softly.

“Yeah… so that is why my eyes look like I have been crying for days.” I explained and sighed softly.

“We have to be careful about the hallways guys.” Kota met the other’s eyes who all quickly nodded in response.

“Sang would you mind if we walked you to and from classes from now on?” Nathan’s blue eyes met mine and I nodded.

“Thank you.” I responded feeling weird having had to ask for help.

“Silas?” Victor shifted a little in his chair and looked at the gentle giant. “How did you get her to calm down in order to approach when Doc and Mr. B couldn’t approach?”

I swallowed and Silas shifted out of his chair and moved over to me. I met his eyes and he slipped his hands easily under my arms and helped me to my feet. “She doesn’t flinch anymore when I touch her.”

His voice was light as his hands rested on my shoulders to steady me as I got my footing. A second later the bell rung. Turning to grab my bag I found the boy’s sitting stunned. I couldn’t help but giggle so hard. Silas smiled as well. “Catching flies I believe the saying is.”
