A Different Beginning ~ Part 72 ~ Updated: 3/4/15 Late Evening

Letting out a very slow breath, I slowly relaxed into Mr. Blackbourne’s chest. My head rested against his shoulder and my side against his chest. His breathing was strong and I kept my breathing aligned with his not wanting to worry anyone any father.

My eyes met Gabriel who was slowly being released from North’s grip. He looked defeated his eyes soft and sad. I could feel my eyes watering again as Dr. Green shifted into a kneeling position in front of me. My hand resting on my lap limply. I could feel the throb of pain rushing through every couple of seconds.

I flinched harder this time as Dr. Green touched my hand. Victor’s hands rushed to my other shoulder and Mr. Blackbourne’s hand wrapped tight around my waist. The pain increased and instantly Dr. Green shifted his hands to my elbow keeping my hand still. His eyes met mine and I quickly hid my face into Mr. Blackbourne’s chest. “Princess don’t hold your breath.” Mr. Blackbourne’s eyes widened and I instantly released my breath.

Victor’s voice was soft as he prompted me on what to do and guided me through a few breaths before placing a hand on my side and lightly rubbing. “Trouble?” Gabriel’s voice was softer now and I trembled at the sound of worry that echoed in his voice. My nerves were kicking in again as I recalled the scene from earlier and I forced my eyes shut letting out slow breaths. Pain still radiated up my arm even after the medicine kicked in.

“Pookie can you move your hand for me?” Dr. Green’s voice was soft.

Biting my lip, I slowly sat up straight meeting Dr. Green’s eyes before nodding very slowly. Closing my eyes I started to straighten my hand but the pain rushed through my arm and instantly I let out a weak yelp. Dashing back into Mr. Blackbourne’s chest I took a shaky breath. A hand braced the back of my head and slowly ran through my hair. “So-Sorry…” I whispered under my breath and Mr. Blackbourne’s arms wrapped around me.

“Rest.” He whispered comfortingly into my ear and placed a very soft kiss on my forehead. “Where are the others?” Mr. Blackbourne sounded upset and impatient now.

“On the way. Luke is coming now with Nathan.” Kota’s voice answered and I turned finding Silas inches away. His hand running through my hair. I managed a small smile. They were here. My heart thudded quietly in my chest. Just seeing them made me feel better. But in the back of my mind I wondered where Mr. McCoy was.

“Aggele…” I was pulled out of my thoughts and  slowly shifted into Silas’s arms and lap. He had taken Victor’s place on the cot, closest to Mr. Blackbourne. His soulful eyes met mine making me smile a little bigger.

“Pookie keep that hand still okay?” Dr. Green warned and I nodded. I kept my arm pinned to my side as I shifted. Silas’s arms slipped under my arms and to my back helping me forward. I was straddling Silas’s legs when pain shot through my back and I flinched hard. Instantly, Silas stopped.

“Aggele does your back hurt as well?” Silas’s eyes grew wide with surprise and I ducked my head down. I had forgotten about the bruises from the day before. The image of me falling to the floor flickered into my mind now and I closed my eyes. Silas quickly guided me to his chest and I could feel the back of my shirt being lifted up to take a look at my back.

I shivered hard as the cold air hit my back. Hearing gasps and swearing I quickly tried to pull away but Silas’s hands caught my hips holding me still. Soft hands touched my back. “Sang stay still.” Dr. Green warned and his fingers touched my sides.

“They are on her legs as well.” Gabriel stated shifting.

“Where?” North growled.

“I fell yesterday.” I whispered. “Its nothing.” I tried to straighten but Silas’s hands didn’t move and Dr. Green’s hands pushed me forward. Feeling scared I bit my lip hard trying to hide my trembling. I wasn’t comfortable and now everyone was staring at my back as well.

“Sang you should have shown me this morning.” Dr. Green stated sternly and I bit my lip tears slipping down my cheeks. I didn’t mean for this to happen.

They were mad at me. They were mad about the confrontation with Mr. McCoy and now they were mad at me about my back. I couldn’t hide my sobs and I felt Silas stiffen.

“Aggele?” He shifted away from me a little trying to get a look at me and instantly he rushed to pull me into his chest and pull down my shirt.

“Silas I need to-“

“Little one easy.” Silas responded and I sobbed hard moving close to his chest. I ducked my head into the crook of his neck.

“Little bird?” A soft voice whispered.

“Peanut!” Nathan’s voice shifted closer.

“We have to get going. Mr. Taylor and Mr. Griffin, Mr. Taylor will fill you in later but right now we need to get Sang to the hospital.” Mr. Blackbourne stated.
