Mr. Blackbourne shifted forward lightly rubbing my back. “How much did you sleep after you came and joined us in my bed?” He whispered his fingers rubbing a sore spot on my back. The touch of his fingers on my back sent shivers up my spine and I relaxed slowly. Putting the plate I was washing down, I glanced over to Mr. Blackbourne and then down at the tiled floor.
“Enough…” I finally managed having been unable to pick the right word in order to describe what I had felt the night before. Sleeping had been difficult and although I had been exhausted after throwing up everything in my stomach I still continued to wake up every hour on the hour.
Sensing my hesitation Mr. Blackbourne wrapped his arms carefully around my waist pulling me close into his chest and holding me. The warmth of his body making me shiver and I breathed out slowly. “You can rest during your Violin lesson today.” He promised placed a soft kiss on my forehead before ushering me to the stairs.
With a nod I climbed the stairs and giggled finding Dr. Green rushing about in the hallway with a brush in his hair and his toothbrush in his mouth. Shooting me a warning look he wiggled his eyebrows as if to say bring it on but I smiled trying to hold back my giggling as I shifted down the hall.
Moving into my room, I changed into the clothes that Gabriel had packed for me thankful to get into something warmer. Carefully, I pulled on some faded blue jeans and a light pink tank top with a grey long sleeved cardigan. Letting out a sigh I smiled at the warmth the cardigan provided me and was able to relax a bit before pulling on some socks. Making sure I was all set and dressed I moved back into the hallway to the bathroom.
Taking my time to brush my teeth I felt my pocket vibrate and quickly pulled out my phone to check.
Luke: How are you feeling little birdie?
I smiled relaxing at the text thinking how Luke must have been preparing for his day of school at home. I quickly responded back.
Sang: I really want to see you Luke.
I hesitated, my finger just above the send button. Should I send it? Should I let him know how scared I got over one stupid dream that I knew wasn’t real? Letting out a breath, I thought for a moment but was suddenly surprised by a knock on the door.
“Pooooooookkkkkkiiiiieeeeee” Wined Dr. Green. “I need to use the bathroom toooooooo.” I giggled and shifted moving to spit out the rest of the toothpaste in my mouth and gargled before opening the door to the bathroom. Dr. Green stood leaning against the doorway lazily in nothing but a towel making me blush super hard. His body was amazingly fit making me want to stare at it for hours. Dr. Green smiled leaning down to kiss me softly drawing me out of my haze.
“Sean.” I spun and Mr. Blackbourne stood in his suite arranging his tie on his neck. He also looked fantastic in his suite his brought shoulders filling them out nicely. Those silver eyes met mine and I hid my face, blushing even harder now, as I shifted out of the bathroom.
“Pack up Ms. Sorenson we are going to be late.” Mr. Blackbourne called after me and I could almost hear a laugh in his voice. With a nod, I moved back into my bedroom and put my things into my overnight bag and my backpack. Double checking that everything was all set my phone vibrated again.
Luke! I opened my phone to find not a message waiting for me but my phone actually ringing. Pressing answer I brought the phone to my ear.
“Hello?” I answered quietly as I bit my lip.
“Little birdie are you alright?” Luke’s voice sounded through the phone and I instantly relaxed. He was alright. He was alright. It had only been a dream. I repeated. Letting out a very slowly breath I nodded quietly to myself.
“Yes Luke. I am okay sorry for not replying…” Carefully I laid slowly down in my bed playing with the quilt to keep my fingers busy.
“Little Birdie don’t hold back what you are feeling from me. If you are scared just tell me. Everyone gets scared.” Luke warned picking up on my hesitation. With a sigh I nodded, once again to myself.
“Yes… But it was only a dream. I know that.” I smiled laughing quietly trying to push the pain out of my voice.
“I am going to see you right when I we get to school I promise.” Luke whispered and I could feel my body shake with relief.
“Okay…” I whispered back nervously. I heard shifting in the background and then North’s voice.
“Good Morning Sang Baby” I smiled softly to myself thinking about the two brothers.
“Hi North Star.” I responded happily.
“Baby you sound exhausted.” He responded and I could hear the worry creeping into his voice. I looked down feeling awful for causing worry once again.
“I am just a little tired North Star. I promise I am okay.” I reassured him.
“Do you want me to pick you up some coffee on the way to school Baby?” North asked and I thought about it for a moment before Luke’s voice erupted in the background.
“I want coffee!” I couldn’t help but giggle as I sat up gathering my things in my hands.
“Not you you nut! Sang is exhausted you were not the one up all last night she was.” North grunted and I smirked.
“I would love a coffee North Star.” I responded opening the door to my room and heading down the hall.
“Okay baby girl see you in a bit.” I smiled softly.
“Okay.”
“I want coffeee!!!!” Luke wined and I giggled once more before hanging up the phone. Moving carefully down the stairs with my bags I set them by the front door and Mr. Blackbourne appeared. A second later Dr. Green came rushing down the stairs slipping his coat on.
“Ready to go?” With a nod we were off.
