There weren't really many places to go on dates whilst you were at Hogwarts. Most people went into Hogsmeade for dates but neither your nor Draco thought that going there was really a good first date. Other than just hanging out in the Slytherin Common Room as you had done many times without trying to make a relationship out of it, there wasn't many other places to go even in such a large castle. You both tried to think of somewhere and ended up with settling on sneaking up to the Astronomy Tower after dark. It seemed like a good plan. Neither of you wanted others getting involved when it was just a first date and it meant that no one would even notice the two of you were together as everyone else would be in bed.

The two of you snuck out of the Slytherin dormitories and headed up to the Astronomy Tower for your date. You hadn't thought through what you were going to do past look at the stars, but you doubted that the date would last long die to having snuck out for it. You had both dressed up, not in your normal robes or pyjamas as you should have been wearing, both trying to impress the other.

Once you were at the top of the tower the two of you stood in silence looking out at the grounds of the castle and the star filled sky. Although you both knew that there was at least some interest there, neither of you really knew what to say. As far as you knew of Draco, he was never short for words, so him not having anything to say only made you feel more nervous.

The silence had become deafening, and you needed to escape from it.

"The stars look especially lovely tonight," you commented, hoping that with the first sentence, the pain and nerves would be lifted from you both.

You felt Draco relax next to you, relieved that he didn't have to make the first part of the conversation.

"Erm... not... not as lovely as you," he croaked.

If you wanted this date to be anything, you knew that one of you needed to find some confidence and it seemed Draco had already lost all of his.

"Thank you," you smiled. "What would Pansy think if she heard you talk like that? Let alone know you asked me on a date."

"You're not going to tell her, are you?" He questioned.

"No but you don't need to be nervous around me, we've been friends for years.

He offered you an awkward smile. "I guess you're right."

You playfully shoved his shoulder as you had done so many times before.

"I always am, that's why you couldn't deny you wanted to come on a date with me."
