Even though you had never spoken to him, it was hard to not know about Sirius Black. He was known throughout Hogwarts by the whole student body and staff alike and even if you had never personally spoken with him, he made an impression from a distance. You knew of his cocky and loud nature and you could have never imagined him as a blithering idiot until you had seen it for yourself.

You had been reading in the courtyard during one of your breaks from your classes but were brought out of your book by the clearing of someone's throat. There you found Sirius Black stood in front of you with an uncharacteristically nervous smile. You were slightly nervous as to what he wanted as you doubted, he even knew who you were. The two of you shared a couple of classes but seen as he was usually joking around with his friends whilst you tried to go under the radar, you doubted her actually knew you.

"Hi," you smiled softly, not sure what he wanted.

"Um... hi... Y/N, right?" He said, biting his lower lip.

You nodded your head.

Nerves bubbled up within you, not certain to what was going on or why he would want to talk to you as you were unfamiliar with each other.

"I... um... I wanted to ask you something... I mean can I... ask you something... it's not important... well it is... to me... it's important to me... but if you're busy... of course you're busy... you were reading... don't worry."

None of his word's connection smoothly, rather making a strain of consciousness roll out of his mouth as he tried to make sense to the thoughts that raced within his mind.

"Are you okay?" You asked softly.

He paused and let out a laugh, trying to act confident. "Of course, why'd you ask?"

"Well every time I see you, you seem so confident and self-assured, but you seem really nervous and unlike yourself," you admitted.

He let out a chuckle. "I just can't control myself when around you."

"Pardon?"

Sirius took a second to think about how he wanted to say what was on his mind and smiled at you fondly.

"I'm sorry," he said. "I'm just nervous because I like you, quite a bit and I wanted to know if you wanted to go on a date, but I know I'm probably not your normal type."

You were highly flattered, never having had anyone say they liked you bother, nor having wanted to go on a date with you.

"I don't have a normal type."

"Then maybe I could be your type?" He smiled cheekily.

You shrugged your shoulders. "So, you wanted to go on a date?"

He nodded his head, running a hand through his long dark hair.

"If you want to, of course."

"I would love to."
