A Continuation from 17/10/2021

It was already late, Kao's family had left to go back home and he was still lingering in the hospital. He took a look around, making sure nobody was in the room where Kao was before walking in and taking a seat beside the bed.

"Hi, again." He said, almost awkwardly. He was suddenly afraid of talking, not knowing if what he's about to say will affect the other. "This is stupid, why am I scared? You can't even hear me."

"So, your family thinks that we're engaged." He started, letting out a chuckle. "It really isn't funny but I couldn't help it." And another chuckle. "I'm sorry, I'll stop."

He straightened himself on the chair, taking a deep breath and starting over. "Let me just introduce myself..."

"My name's Fluke. Fluke Natouch Siripongthon. Um... Like I said, your family thinks that we're engaged and it's rude of me for not informing you of that little thing." He said. "Never been engaged before. This is all very sudden to me." He looked at the serene sleeping face of the man on the bed, smiling as he remembered the conversation he had with Kao's family before.

They were asked to wait outside since the doctor was going to be doing more checks on Kao so the whole family was waiting in the lobby. Fluke included.

He had been keeping his head down, eyes casted on his lap to avoid the awkwardness. Even when he's not looking, he can feel the eyes on him. The whole family was indeed looking at him. But nobody opened their mouths to say anything, until Kao's grandmother did.

"So..." She said softly which made their attention to shift from Fluke to her. Fluke raised his head and returned her smile. "...tell us how you met Kao." She said.

"Mom, he doesn't wanna talk about that now, okay?" Kao's mother who was sitting on the other couch with his little sister said.

"Why not? We could use a nice story." The older woman was persistent.

"How do you know it was nice?" The male beside Kao's grandma asked. He's pretty sure Kao's father is the one who's been walking back and forth from behind the couch in which Kao's mother and sister were seated, so he has no idea who this other male is. He's not that old to be considered the grandfather and he's pretty sure that's not Kao's brother either. Is he the uncle?

"Well of course it's nice! Why shouldn't it be nice?" The woman retorted.

As their voice was getting louder by the second, Fluke decided to cut it. "Um... It was we met at the train station." He said, remembering the day the taller male, his Prince Charming first came to his booth.

The whole family smiled. "What was it about him that first struck you?" Kao's mother now asked, suddenly interested.

Fluke looked at her and smiled. "It was his smile." He answered, the familiar smile that he waits for everyday played in his head. It was the most anticipated thing that he'd look for everyday to work.

To look at the charming smile of his Prince Charming.

"You bet, he paid a ton for that smile." Kao's father interferes only to be shushed down by the grandmother. Fluke chuckled.

"Well, we saw each other... and... um... he smiled. And I knew that my life would never be the same."

When he was telling them of how they met, he was being honest. That was really his thought when he first saw Kao's smile. And his life had been different since then. He used to be alone and just goes from day to day without anything but since then, he's been getting excited to come to work just to take a look at the male.
