XG 57 - Being treated as a thief

Watching them from the back, Kang Xunsu posture straightened and softly whistled. Lok Hui Man had stepped onto the little princess' tail. He shook his head, warning the eavesdropping gang members to not come forward.

Defending her family's dignity should be something Wong Xue Guo would want to handle by herself.

Now, Wong Xue Guo's smile does not have even a drop of politeness. "Even without my mother, we will still leave here, as we have told you... a few days ago? Madam Lok, I originally did not want to sound this harsh, but I feel that since you did not hold back yourself like you should as an outsider and insult my family, over and over again, I shall not bother being civil anymore."

Wong Xue Guo stood forward, her hand casually resting onto the sword resting on her hip. Her sharp gaze and the meaning of her hand gesture had Lok Hui Man take a step back before controlling herself not to retreat any further.

As a politician, she had been threatened many times. She faced them all without running away, but why does this underage girl give off the same vibe as them? Albeit her gaze was less intense and better looking than those old faces.

"The funds you tried to get my mother's help in exchange for getting her in safely? She would have agreed because you are doing a good deed. Now that you refuse my mother's entry, okay, it's fine and we won't get hostile over it. But going as far as provoking our family relationship and assuming you knew better?"

Wong Xue Guo pushed the hilt of her sword up with her thumb, revealing an inch of the sharp blade. "That's taking way too far."

"Right, that's where we will end things." Kang Xunsu stepped forward and pushed her blade back into the sheath. "Madam Lok, please leave. You have your own ideas, and so do us. There is no need for you to step over the line by insisting your own ideas onto others."

Being threatened like that, Lok Hui Man also does not want to stay any longer. With a curt nod, she strode away. But she still notes to herself to keep an eye on the border, just in case Suzie Yap did appear.

Who would know what the father and daughter that were obsessed with Suzie Yap would do once they knew she had arrived? Lok Hui Man must not let any more people come in. She will help them leave if they want to, but none of them will enter again after that.

"That villa... will be ours soon," Lok Hui Man murmured, already forgetting the intimidation she received from Wong Xue Guo.

It was natural that one would think more about the benefits she could get from a situation than the loss she would need to bear, which would also ease the fear she felt earlier.

Once the front gate closed, Wong Xue Guo immediately questioned Kang Xunsu. "Do you know if my parents have any plans to come back here?"

Oh, she had completely let her anger control her and spoke impolitely to Lok Hui Man. Only after that did she regret, slightly, for making an enemy that will cause trouble to them if they intend to return here in the future.

Kang Xunsu sneered, "No need to worry. We won't be coming back to a place where we are unwelcomed."

Wong Xue Guo pursed her lips over his words. "Brother Xunsu, I do understand her position on not allowing outsiders entering."

"I know." Kang Xunsu rubbed her head and messed up her hair without a care. "You are angry because she dares to insist you betray your mother."

With a sneer rather similar to her mother's, Wong Xue Guo spoke with thorns in her tone. "Any child would be angry hearing that."

"Not every kid." Kang Xunsu patted her back and guided her back into the villa. "Let's pack. You say Madam is reaching soon?"

"I tried to get my mother to give me a more accurate estimation of her arrival, but she could not. Father believes that she will arrive before the sky brightens."

"...Let's believe in your father."

Charles Wong was known as a whipped husband in their close circle as someone that knows his wife's location accurately anytime, any place. His skill was developed and enhanced to fulfill his need to know his wife's location almost every hour like an obsessive husband.

"But I thought my father would stay until he found the ghost. Or did my father already find him?"

"Yeah, found him. He possessed Mr. Sui's body and released the baby zombie."

"What did my father do to the ghost?" Wong Xue Guo asked curiously.

"Boss allowed Miu to kill him." Someone other than Kang Xunsu answered.

Jerked in surprise, Wong Xue Guo turned to look at Lan Yan that had sneaked behind her. "Okay... So the ghost died?"

Lan Yan smiled mysteriously. "Who knows?"

Miu had only killed Grandpa Sui, a body the ghost possessed. She assumed Grandpa Sui was his real body, and no one bothered to enlighten her of their suspicion. Charles Wong would have put more effort and cleaned up the ghost permanently if Lok Hui Man had not barred his wife from entering Penang Island.

The Madam politician had disrupted Charles Wong's plan of coaxing his wife once she arrived, intending to have them get a short, romantic vacation before flying to Korea. Thus, he no longer cared about the ghost and let him do whatever he wanted, even if it would bring chaos to this island.

As he was not the leader, Penang Island was not his concern.

As Charles Wong had estimated, Suzie Yap messaged at the family group chat that she had arrived at four in the morning. Predictably, the soldiers stopped their entry, so they waited near the border, under the watchful eyes of the guarding soldiers.

To Suzie Yap's eyes, it was amusing. Being treated as a thief that would steal their treasure when the thief actually does not even value their goods... They were just like a certain mother and daughter that wanted to dispose of her just to take ownership of the mafia family right after her father died.

Hiding most of his head from view under the hoodie, Vihaan was worried when they were not allowed in. He knew from Suzie Yap that her daughter and husband were inside the island, so how would they enter when the authorities refused to let them in?

He was bewildered when there was no sign of anxiousness on Suzie Yap's face. He finally understood why when she told them to rest while waiting for her family to pick them up.

Eying the people arguing with the guards and the waiting line increasing as more survivors reached the border, Vihaan was concerned that it would create trouble.

"Should we get a little further away from them? What if we accidentally get injured by them when their protest heats up?" Ash suggested. Like Vihaan, he was also hiding his hair with a cap just to avoid being shot from wrongly recognizing he was a zombie.

Suzie Yap had no protest over it so they moved further back from the border and waited inside their car.

She was excited over the thought of meeting her complete and alive family again.

Author's Note:

*sigh* I swear, when I think up of Lok Hui Man's character, she was supposed to be a strong, upright politician that prioritizes the citizen's safety. But... but I made her twisted uwaaaaaaaaah

Sorry, Madam Lok!
