XG 121 - Do you want to beat him up?

Wong Xue Guo was quite familiar with the medical ward, as she always pay a visit whenever she returned from a field trip.

Her legs unconsciously stopped before the door as a memory finally surfaced upon triggered. Turns out, the last thing she actually saw before hopping into Woojin's memory was the burning ceiling collapsed on top of her and Kang Xunsu. Kang Xunsu would surely protect her, and by Ash's reaction, it was likely a serious injury even if his life was saved.

As for why that idiot Chen Yibo did not tell her about Kang Xunsu, he must be in a Holy Father mode. Did he think she would collapse upon hearing Kang Xunsu was injured? If he did not tell her, what kind of setting did he want her to discover it in?

But reality showed her that after she found Kang Xunsu's bed and parted the curtain, she could actually feel vision shook. It was only her unforgivingly tight grip on the curtain that helped her to stabilize herself and appeared composed but her pale face had betrayed her. Her eyes were glued onto a certain area of Kang Xunsu, where the sight had sent her mind whirling.

With his back resting against a pillow, Kang Xunsu whistled once he saw her in a dress. He had gotten used to seeing her in t-shirt and pants, and the sudden feminine attire brought back the old, peaceful memories.

"I was just about to try waking you up if you are still sleeping," Kang Xunsu jokes, but relief could not be hidden from his eyes. "Good thing it's Young Master Yibo the first thing you see when you open your eyes, huh?"

If she was in a normal state, the knowing look in his eyes would have scared Wong Xue Guo that her secret was known. Her current attention was wholly on Kang Xunsu's lower part. "Your leg..."

It was pretty insensitive to point that out, but she was so shocked that she slipped out thoughtless words. It was unknown if it was good or bad that Kang Xunsu was not affected by her words, since there were other people saying much more insensitive words to him already for the past few days.

"The beam landed on my leg. The fire was spreading fast and I can't move it away in time, so I choose to cut it off if I still want my life," Kang Xunsu explained. "Fortunately it's only one leg, so I can still walk."

L.L. had seen everything that happened and was also helpless in lifting the burning heavy wooden beam. Unfortunately for them, that wooden beam happened to be one of the main beams, so it was larger and heavier. Kang Xunsu could avoid the falling beam, but only if he choose not to save Wong Xue Guo. He sacrificed his leg for them both, and he never blamed her for it.

Something so selfless, L.L. could not even imagine doing so for his good buddy.

Wong Xue Guo took a staggering step closer to the bed. "My mother... Can she heal it?"

Both Kang Xunsu and L.L. were surprised to hear that question. It was not that they had the concept that their little princess was unsympathetic, but she never made any suggestion that would have troubled her parents to do something for her or others.

That gesture warmed Kang Xunsu's heart more than other people's apologetic words for his forced retirement.

"So young master Yibo keep you up to date?"

"He did not tell me about you," Wong Xue Guo sulked.

"He's just afraid of scaring you."

"I would still appreciate being told about you instead of suddenly catching wind of it unprepared. Well? Did my mother try to heal you?"

"Your mother can heal wounds like yours, but she could not grow a leg. She had healed my other injuries, so I'm feeling okay."

"My mother can heal injuries, but I doubt she could remove pain?" Wong Xue Guo retorted. But Kang Xunsu does not look to be in pain, and if he was acting, he was hiding his pain way too well.

"He's taking painkillers to help him rest properly," L.L. said. He was peeling an apple with a swiss blade, the skin remain connected.

Getting the hint, she started to excuse herself. "I have something else to do, so I will leave you to rest."

"What do you need to do?" Kang Xunsu asked. As her unofficial assistant, he knew her schedule way better than herself most of the time.

"I want to talk to Woojin."

Kang Xunsu arched an eyebrow. "Whatever for? Do you want to beat him up? In a dress?"

"Not interested."

"Then what do you want to talk to him about?"

Wong Xue Guo sighed at how pressing Kang Xunsu was. She had wanted him to rest, but he would not let go until he pried out everything from her. Eventually, he would want to get involved in it too. "I just want to know if he knew about the evil 'Lord'."

Thanks to the conjoined twins they encountered in the hospital, they now knew their leader was known to them as 'Lord'. Charles Wong had chosen to kill them instead of leaving them alive to get more information from them. His decision had evoked some party's anger, but knowing the twin's ability was dangerous and they could not control them, it was indeed better not to play with fire.

"We had already asked him about it. He does not know anything about whatever 'Lord' we are talking about. He's not lying about it."

"Then did anyone ask if he encountered strange things?"

"Zombies are pretty strange," Kang Xunsu answered lazily.

Wong Xue Guo rolled her eyes. "Anything other than that?"

"Someone had approached him by infiltrating his base and asked him to join their group."

"It's strange because?" That situation should be normal as people would want strong people to join their group. Having the mastermind's group acting the same was not strange at all.

"That fella noticed the person who asked him that question was found dead the next day in the attic. That body is estimated to be dead before he was approached with that question."

Wong Xue Guo finally grew interested. "You suspect that person had the ability to change their face, and was likely to be from the mastermind's group? It must be that woman."

"Yep, we think that person is the same person that's hellbent on killing you. Her body changed again after she died, likely to be her real look."

"Did Woojin agree to join them?"

"Nope."

"They did not kill him for rejecting them?" Wong Xue Guo sarcastically acting shocked.

"They did, suspiciously aiming to dig out his heart. He was lucky enough to escape with his teacher. Turns out he's not a fool to not realize the scouting agent was dangerous and avoid returning to the church for a while and lay low. That was how he met up with the other students at the school base."

"... Did he say why he refused to join them?" Some would agree to join for fear of their life, but Woojin was the leader of the church base and might refuse for reason being unwilling to be a lackey after joining another group.

"Make no mistake. He refuses to join because their interest does not align. He created the church group to have a safe place mainly for himself and his teacher. The burning acts are for everyone to seek revenge and punish the villains that offended them, just like that kid himself admitting he hunted down those that bullied him."
