I woke up before Simon the morning after the trial. He had been so tired that he had fallen asleep in front of the television last night. I had carried him into bed, taking revenge on the last time when he had done the same with me. When I checked my phone I had a few missed calls and messages from my mother. I had a feeling she would not be too happy with the trial and what I had done after it. She knew I would take part in the trial and she had tried to get me to rethink my decision. I had told her I would take part in the trial, even if she was against it. Simon was worth it. I thought of what she had said in the car before I had denied it was me in the video. She said that romance and young love felt like the entire world. And it did. Simon was the most important person in my life. And it was worth fighting for. Our relationship. It was one of the few things that made me happy nowadays. I got out of bed and went into the living room, where Linda already sat with a big cup of tea.

"Good morning Wilhelm. Did you sleep well?" she asked me.

" Good morning. Yes I did. I always sleep better when I have Simon there actually." I could feel my cheeks get a bit warm. She smiled at me.

"Is he still sleeping?" she asked me. I nodded.

"My mother has called me a few times, is it okay if I call her back?" I asked. She nodded. I went into the kitchen.

"Hi mom" I said when she picked up.

"Hi, it is mom," she replied.

"Yes I know." I said.

"I wondered if you would like to come home for dinner tonight." she said.

"Why?" I replied. It was Saturday, so there would be a big dinner with lots of people. I would likely be the only one under the age of twenty there.

"Because your father and I would like to meet your boyfriend, Wilhelm." she said.

"Do you think you can just pretend as if the fact you did not want us to be together will go away?" I said.

"Listen, Wilhelm. I am sorry for my actions and I would like to apologize for what I did to you. Can you forgive me?" she said. I did not know if I was dreaming. Was she really apologizing to me? She had never apologized once to me in my entire life I think.

"I can forgive you, but remember I won't forget it." I said. It did not make anything better to go around being angry with my parents.

"So will you come for dinner tonight?" she asked.

"I must speak to Simon first. He is still asleep. Can I send you a message later?" I said.

"That's fine, Wilhelm. You can stay the night if you want to." she said. "Simon can stay as well if he wants to." she included.

"Okay, Bye." I said.

"Bye." She said and hung up.

"How did it go, Wilhelm?" Linda asked me from the sofa.

"She asked if Simon and I wanted to come to dinner tonight. I think she has a bad conscience" I said.

"It sounds like it. There is tea in the teapot if you want some, Wilhelm" Linda answered. I poured some tea into a cup and went to sit on the sofa next to Linda. She did not make me feel nervous, as I had thought it would be to be around my partner's parents. I had never met Simon's father, and Simon had told me it was for the better.

"How do you feel, Wilhelm?" she asked me. I smiled at her.
"I am fine. I am happy we got justice for what August did yesterday." I said.

"Me too. It was good he got what he deserved" she replied. "What he did to you was cruel."
