All the Hufflepuff first years were heading to their first class of the term which would be most kids favourites.

Not to Harry though.

He hated flying.

He had good reasons for it too.

He was walking beside Jasper to get to the grounds, and Jasper seemed to be in better spirits than he was for breakfast after the Slytherins tormented him.

Slytherins are such gits. Harry thought.

The Hufflepuff prefects, Cara, and Allen were leading the Hufflepuffs to the grounds, and they met halfway with the first year Ravenclaws. Harry spotted Marlene, and waved to her, and Marlene waved back.

The first year Hufflepuffs, and Ravenclaws went out on to the grounds, and Cara, and Allen walked to their own classes with the other two Ravenclaw prefects. Marlene came over to Harry, and Jasper with another girl who had a blonde pixie cut. "Hey!" She said. "Are you excited to fly?"

Jasper nodded. "Yes! Flying on broomsticks, it sounds so fun."

Marlene agreed. "This is Emmaline Vance." Marlene signalled to the blonde girl. "She is nervous about flying."

Emmaline nodded.

"Well, don't worry." Harry said. "I am too."

Marlene said "Well you shouldn't be, flying isn't scary. I read in a book that there is only a 53.87% chance of dying."

Harry stared at her. "That is more than half."

"It can't be too bad if it is a school course." Jasper said, still excited.

"Exactly!" Marlene exclaimed.

"Well quidditch is dangerous, but they still have it as a sport." Mumbled Emmaline.

Marlene looked at Emmaline. "Don't worry Emmaline, I will make sure you don't hurt yourself on a broom today."

"What's quidditch?" Jasper asked, interested.

Marlene gasped. "It is only the best sport in the Wizarding World!" She exclaimed. She looked at Harry. "I can't believe you didn't tell him about it."

"Sorry?"

Marlene scoffed. "Silly boy, forgetting to tell you about quidditch." She said to Jasper. Harry stood there thinking how in the hell was he supposed to tell him about every single thing about the Wizarding World when it was only the second day.

"Wasn't your mum a chaser?" Emmaline asked Harry. "I thought you would be quidditch crazy."

"No." Harry said.

"What's a chaser?" Asked Jasper.

"It is one of the quidditch positions." Marlene told him. "There are four positions, chaser, beater, keeper, and seeker!" Emmaline tapped her shoulder, and Marlene looked back, and realized Madam Hooch was ready to start the class. She looked at Harry. "Explain the rest to him later!" She walked back to the first year Ravenclaws.

Harry looked at Jasper who was hopping up, and down excited at the fact that he was going to learn to fly. Harry was a wreck, his nerves eating him. He hated heights.

Madam Hooch approached the class. She looked around at the crowd of them. "Has anyone ever flown before?"

Most of the class's hands went up except for Jasper's, and two Ravenclaw's. Harry raised his hand hesitantly. He had flown before, but it hadn't ended well.
