It was almost midnight and Bruce couldn't sleep. Walking through his old neighborhood, he saw the streets where he used to run from school to home, or where he used to ride his bicycle until the sun went down. He had many friends in that neighborhood while growing up. Most of them should be married by then with boring jobs from 9 to 5. But not him... Bruce was a rock star with big dreams, but, deep down, all alone. He didn't have a wife or even a girlfriend, even though he had a new girl in his arms every now and then. But he was no fool. It was not love.

Because the only girl he could ever love was you... The girl that got away.

Walking through the street where he grew up, Bruce stopped by your garden in front of the house. On the second floor a light was on. He stayed there in the dark, feeling the urge to knock on your door and tell you he never really forgot you. But he didn't do it.

He just stood there watching the window with the light on until a shadow showed up. And then two. He could see it was a couple. The man, taller than you, held you in his arms and Bruce could only feel his heart breaking a little more because you were the one that got away.
