"I am so glad you brought your car Jamie," I puff out as we carry a coffee table between us up the stairs of our new apartment building.

Jamie releases a grin and nods. "Thank God for hand me downs," he says as we reach the second floor and into our flat.

"I wish I had hand me downs," I shake my head towards him before placing the coffee table down between the two sofas. "I am so glad this place was already furnished."

"Oh man, me too," Jamie places his hands onto his hips and stretches out his back. "There is no way you'd catch me carrying a fucking fridge and freezer up here."

A small laugh passes my lips. "Same, my arms are weak as fuck."

"You and me both," he chuckles before flopping down onto the sofa. "Have you still got stuff in my car?"

I shake my head. "No, I threw loads of shit away whilst I was clearing out my uni room. But I got all the stuff I need now. Thanks for letting me use your car."

Jamie shrugs. "That's what roommates are for."

My eyes take once glance around our new apartment, excitement bubbling up inside me at the sight of it. In a way I was pleased I had moved away from halls, it gives you more independence than from living with a bunch of random people.

You don't have to shift through their shit in the communal kitchen, Jamie tells me that he is clean and tidy. I guess time will tell but now this is our new home, I'd like to think we would actively want to keep it clean for our own sanity.

"Do you want to go halves on a TV?" Jamie questions as we stare ahead at the vacant spot on the stand.

"Yeah," I nod as I watch him pull his phone from his pocket. "I guess that will help with the hangovers for sure."

Jamie's eyes focus on his phone screen scrolling through. "There is this uni page where people sell things they don't need anymore. Might be able to find a cheap one on there, we don't need anything too big. Do we?"

"No way," I shake my head as I sit down on the other sofa. "Whatever size, I don't care. As long as I can see it and it isn't fucked."

"There is one for £50, 32 inches. What do you think?"

"Does it work?"

"Finding that out." He smirks towards me.

My phone vibrates in my pocket and I remove it from my jeans, Max's name popping up on the screen.
